Just now the Habs' goalie was 30 feet from the goal. Why can't the other team cold cock him? Is there a rule about scuffing up the goaile even when he's out of his box?

If he is outside the dots and has the puck, he is fair game.

I was planning on taking a break at the 5 min mark, with my HP.

Yeah, moron, there is.

CHARGING THE GOALTENDER

Rule 52b:

“A Major penalty and a Game Misconduct penalty shall be assessed any player who charges a goaltender while the goaltender is within his crease or who injures an opponent as a result of a charge.

Note: A goaltender is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease area.* A penalty for interference (Minor or, at the discretion of the Referee, a Major penalty and a Game Misconduct penalty) or charging (Minor or, at the discretion of the Referee, a Major penalty and a Game Misconduct penalty) shall be called where an opposing player makes unnecessary contact with a goaltender.* Likewise, Referees should be alert to penalize goaltenders for tripping, slashing, or spearing in the vicinity of the goal.” (Canadian Hockey Referee’s Case Book/Rule Combination, 2001, pg. 141).

I get it right here. I see what titillates the lulus... divide it by 5... carry the 3 from the other posts they've contributed 2... then 1der what all the fuss is really about.

Reminds me of a time when the New York papers were the best barometer of what was the kernel of truth. The Post was outlandishly to the right, but had sports nailed - and a fab Page 6. The Times played to the left - with sports at 2-3 pages. The Daily News had big tabloid pictures and mediocre sports. The WSJ tinted the whole sitch with the green - only minimal sports coverage. The Village Voice dug into great stories, but was in dire need of a copy editor - exemplary personals, though. The Amsterdam News always cooked. Somewhere within the crayon'd-over lines was the real story and consistent ball scores. What ever happened to Frank DeFord's The National?

Are you a guy?

Try seaching espn.com...

...one of their guys did an excellent piece on that very subject within the last 6 months; a ball bag full of quotes and anecdotes from the players involved made it a very enjoyable read.

I'm not talking to you, I'm correcting you..
There's a difference.
Besides, no one messes with Carey Price.

You didn't correct me, you imbecile. I asked a question, I didn't state a fact. Had I known the answer to the question, I wouldn't have asked it in the first place. Do you not understand how conversation works:confused:
