I would like to start an online journal. Does anyone know where I can go?
Thanks

Starting an online publication

Do you want a non-profit publication? A website? An e-mail newsletter? You need to have more specifics than just an idea to start an online publication.

If you don't know, this is a good book:

"Starting and Running a Successful Newsletter or Magazine" by Cheryl Woodard. You can sneak a peak at your local bookstore chain if you have one nearby. Or if you can't find (under law), it can be had for about $20 (new) or less (used). The 5th edition is the newest one. I read the 4th, and there was a great deal about magazines and publications in general (that applied to online journals), and a section about just online publications.

Cheryl Woodard was founder of PC World, Mac World, and PC magazine, I believe.

Did you mean like a personal journal?

I may have had you confused regarding what you were seeking. Do you want a private diary? A journal accessible to friends? A journal accessible to the public?

There are many many choices out there, such as livejournal, wordpress, blogger, xanga, etc. etc. etc. There are literally thousands of online journals out there. A search on google for "blog site" or "online journal" or "weblog site" can find you the biggest ones.

I highly recommend www.LiveJournal.com because they offer excellent account security features as well as a huge community, including many kinky communities.

(btw, Blurty is just a copy of LJ, which offers public code.)

I'm sorry, LJ has kinky communities? Damn, I've been writing on there for years and never found em.
