A few months ago, I started a new horror novel and told myself I'd have the first draft done by Easter. And then, with one thing and another and realizing at the halfway mark that I needed to gut and rearrange and revise everything up until that point, and with work being rough and family stuff going on ...

AAAAAAAAAIIIIIEEEEEE!

Just needed to do a little stress-release scream therapy. Thanks for bearing with me.

It's gonna be close. I only have a week left before the deadline. I'm at 96,000 words and into the final stretch. I think I can, I think I can ...

I know you can, I know you can!

All the best with it, Sabledrake.

Btw, have you read the book with that title, by Jeffrey Thomas? :D

I think I can...I think I can....I think I can...I think I can...I know I can...I know I can...I know I can...I know I can. Yes! I can do it!

Keep at. The best of luck to you.:nana:

one of my fave poems for you Sabledrake

I think I can

If you think you are beaten you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't;
If you want to win but think you can't;
It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose you're lost;
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in a state of mind.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger and faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

You can. :rose:

Thanks for the encouragement!

Well, tonight I should finish it ... I'm at about 108,000 and only have a final chapter and the epilogue to go! But if I hadn't agreed to work an extra shift this week, I might not have made it.

Lou > which book?

Go, Sabledrake! GO!

(I'd offer up a cheerleader, but I just used her on another thread. She gets tired waving her arms around so much. :D)

Yay! Go for it, Sabledrake. I hope you completed. It's an awesome feeling when you write that final sentence, isn't it? :)

As for the book, it's called "AAAIIIEEE!!!" AAAIIIEEE!!! by Jeffrey Thomas It's one of those titles that sticks out in my mind. ;)

It's done! Huzzah!

Lou > wow, I hadn't heard of that one. What's it about? Any good? I'm always looking for new books to read.

The title of mine is HIS BLOOD. The plan now is to print it, have the hubby read it, and for me not to even look at it for a few weeks. Then I'll go back and revise, as well as come up with nifty Old Testament quotes to start each chapter. That should be fun.
