ONE MORE MURDER IN THIS TOWN,
DON'T MEAN A THING JUST LOCK YOUR DOORS
AND DRIVE AROUND.

ONE MORE MURDER IN THIS TOWN,
DON'T WORRY THE RAIN WILL
WASH THE CHALK MARKS FROM THE GROUND.

I despise how we disrespect the dead in this culture; we either forget them totally, or we make a circus of it. Let the dead have their peace. If you must gossip, gossip about the living; at least they can stand up for themselves.

Not everyone does that.

Has someone spoken ill of a deceased person you cared about?

Walter Cronkite would be rolling in his grave........

.............if he was dead.

Ahh the media....all they care about is ratings and money.

They'd do anything if they knew they could make a buck off it.

Walter Cronkite,

I'm surprised that someone like him, from the old school of real journalism, hasn't cried foul at the way television news has become entertainment. The news isn't reported anymore, it's stylized. It's produced the same way as a rock video, with slow-motion and visual effects. And it's designed to entertain.

It's all fucked up. I don't even watch it anymore.

I tune in SpongeBob.

The really sick thing is that they'll latch onto just one story. If it's a local news station doing a local story, that's fine. But when every network spends valuable hours of their day talking about Chandra Levy when there are hundreds of Chandra Levys in this country is simply disgusting.

So she knew a Congressman. Big fucking deal. So she slept with this Congressman. Big deal. Now that they've found her body, they'll probably discover that she was killed by some random maniac while jogging.

Same with JonBenet Ramsey. Same with Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, although their murders were particularly heinous. Same with Columbine High School. Same with Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

I guess you are thinking of the Chandra Levy case. What bothers me is that now i know more about forensic science in 24 hours than i have learned in 2 years of classes. It is pretty sickening that the news channels can't stop for a minute and let us know how that War thingie we were so intrigued with 48 hours ago is going (grrrrr, personal rant b/c i missed seeing my friend's homecoming from afgahnistan on tv b/c of guess what? annother damn forensic scientist telling us the same damn thing as the 3 guys before him!)
