If you were told right this minute that you were going to have your last meal because the world had decided that food and drinks were coming in pill form from now on. What would be the last meal and drink you would ask for?

My meal:

Starters: Crayfish mornay.

Main: Deep fried cambert cheese with diced deep fried kumara with a blackberry sauce dripping over it.

Derssert: Pavalova with watermellon and kiwifuit. All dripping with chocolate sauce.

Drink: Diet Coke (not pepsi)

I have no idea what any of that is that you listed. But it sounds lovely. Can I dine with you?

Yes, and I'll cook that meal for you :)

And to think I would have settled for a good steak. I'll have what you are having T.H., thank you.;) :p

What a great thread!
But, it is soooo hard for me to narrow down.
I would have to include fondue as the appetizer.
Most likely lobster and a fabulous wine would be included within the main course.
And cheesecake for dessert.
Yum!

Starter: Garlic and Rosemary foccacia bread

Entree: Smoked chicken fettucine in a red wine, garlic, cream, mushroom and asparagus sauce.

Main: Filet mignon with kumara, honey glazed carrots, minted potatoes and corn.

Desert: Steamed chocolate pudding, flambeed in cognac.

Wines: NZ Chenin Blanc for the starter, a good NZ Chardonnay for the entree, 1987 Pyrus Cabernet from Aussie for the main and Chateau Ruissec sauterne from France for desert. Finally Taylors 1977 port for a well rounded last meal.

Starter cold : foie gras and ice wine
starter hot : grilled lobster and Pouilly
soup : Red cabbage soup
Calvados
main : veal blanquette and Moulin à vent
desert : black forest chocolate cake and Banuyls
coffee and belgian chocolate
Cognac

But that's a joke ? He ? please tell me its a joke ?

pate de foie gras, hummus, and babbaganuche (sp?) on fresh-baked pita, with champagne and french onion soup.

seriously spicy stir fry, with shrimp, beef, tree ears, broccoli, water chestnuts, baby corn ears, onions and peppers, but instead of white rice with that please steam me a mix of basmati and wild rice, accompanied by Bacardi Anejo and tonic on the rocks

Key Lime Pie, served with strawberries on the plate and a side dish with melted white chocolate to dip them in, a cup of very dark-roasted espresso or a turkish coffee, then back to the champagne...

Damn I'm hungry

One Sweet Cherry Pie going on the table now (oh the mental picture) with lots of Sweetness and lashings of whipped cream.

I vaugley recall Purple Death, I'd drink it then get all vague like...LOL

Tis all good!!

Starter- Crab Cakes served on a bed of shoestring sweet potatoes tossed with pesto

Soup- Minnestroni

Main course- Gnocci with Sauce Auror, served with a side of garlic bread

Salad- Caesar

Dessert- Chocolate Peanut butter Cheesecake (My friend made it up, and I would want the full cake to take home in a doggy bag)

to Drink- Aqua Libre sparkler (the summer fruits, dry) with the starter, Pepsi with the main, Kristian Regal swedish Pear sparkler with the salad, and then esspresso dopio with the dessert, (preferably laced with cyanide, because I wouldn't want to face the next morning without my COFFEE).

OK meal time at Dracos would be:

Entree: Deep fried Hoki bites in a beer batter.
Soup: Home made Chicken Noodle with breadsticks.
Main: Medium-rare (4 minute) peppered T-bone steak, Mushroom, tomato & onions. Thick-cut French fries and homemade coleslaw.
Desert: Cinnamon Apple Pie and homemade vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberrys soaked in brandy and fresh whipped cream .

Drinks: Chilled Steinlager (of course)

I like the simple stuff in life:

Mushroom barley soup.

Small green salad with 1,000 isle dressing.

NY cut sirloin steak (medium rare), with a hot and buttery baked potato and asparagus.

Rasberries and cream, with a nice pot of coffee.

A foie gras savoury
Carpaccio of beef with shaved truffles, parmesan wafers and rocquet
Grilled sea bass with baked lobster and crayfish and a light butter sauce
tiramisu
a selection of fine cheeses and biscuits

Preceded by a bottle of Vueve Clicquot "la grande Dame"
A selection of appropriate wines with the meal, including a good port with cheese all rounded off nicely with a large espresso, large XO cognac and a good Havana Cigar

Then I would feel sick!;)

Wow, as I sit here eating my cold bagel for breakfast, this one gets my appetite going!

It's not just what I would want, but includes where I want it from...

Appetizer - Shrimp Remoulade from Brennans in New Orleans. Accompanied by a 1999 Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru.

Soup - Rich Oxtail Soup from a little Gashaus outside of Hanover, Germany. Wine: a 1997 Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cepages

Dinner - New York Strip (Med. Rare) from Peter Lugers in Brooklyn, NY. (Same Cabernet as above).

Desert - Crepes from Au Pied de Cochan in Paris. Accompanied with a good Vintage Port.

But, with all food being converted to pills, I would also opt for a hardy British Breakfast and a last cup of Coffee from of all places...Starbucks!

Oh well, back to my cold bagel and dream.

Svedish Chef has the better idea.

But I didn't think of that.

If this is my last meal and not trying to impress someone else then lay out the table as follows.

Soup;Korean Curry. Tried it, loved it. Serve with ice cold beer.

Main course; Meat and Potato Pie (as served in Wigan, I grew up eating this and now that I can't get any I'm getting nostaligic about the pastry) with extra creamy mashed potato. Eat with a glass of Coca Cola.

Desert. Strawberry Pavlova with grated white chocolate over the top. And a glass of any wine produced in the Rhein Valley.

[almost forgot]

After Desert; whipped cream, fresh strwberries and one wicked and willing lady.

After that I'll be prepared to face the pills, with a heavy heart.
