During the fifteenth age of France, with Queen Marie soon to depart from the throne and leave it to her son, Prince Henry, things seemed busy, troubled almost. The Queen was an old woman, still quite capable of ruling France along, but fancing that it was finally time for Henry to take his responcibilities as a King. Her son, a fresh new eighteen year old, still out for heroic deeds, sword fights, getting into trouble and impressing pretty ladies doesn't seem much interested in marrying, especially between his own country and Spain, who also had a Princess available. And so the story begins.
Daniella Evelyn de Shey never wanted wealth, nor fame, nor riches or glory. She wanted love, her family, her home, but that seemed near impossible. How? When her father was killed in a fire at the stables. Just a young girl, her step mother and two step sisters had never seemed to like her. She was prettier than they, with light golden locks that fell to her mid back, and light emerald eyes. Her time out in the sun was visible so clearly upon her skin by a light tan over her skin. Slender, petite with soft features that echoed noble blood, Daniella had never had problems before her father's death at the age of eight to belong. And as the years wore by, she was reduced to little more than a servent.
Caradine D'Arc was not the nicest of women. To lower her status as such was something no normal person could do, but Daniella knew her to be no normal person. Daniella knew her to be a witch, a evil woman with her two pampered, spoiled daughters, the eldest, one year older than her, a nineteen year old snobbish odd little thing seemed to be the worst, Margret. The younger, Francesca, seemed to be if anything, the smallest bit kind towards her, instead of calling her slave called her her pet name to those friends of her, Ella. Daniella tried to avoid Margret the most, the snobby dark haired beauty...but in no way kind toward anyone, which had kept her single for most of her life, and kept men running away from her. Margret also had a wild style of fun and enjoyment, which was also another reason to stay away from her. It wasn't a good thing to be victim of one of her temper tantrums either.
Daniella woke with a soft yawn, the sunlight shining through the window of that small bedroom. It had been her's since the death of her father...not the best place to sleep, much less luxurious than the rest of the massive manor, but a place to sleep none the less. What had she done this time? Fallen asleep still in that light blue work dress, with the apron still tied around her. The corset beneath made it a horrible thing to fall asleep in, which would ensure that she'd be sore for the rest of the day. Oh well, not that it mattered much. Ella sighed lightly as she leaned back. She and the stable boy, Damien, had spent the night riding around in the carriage. Only when the horses got loose and they had to chase them all over the forest. She couldn't recall ever having so much fun.
"Daniella!" Three hasty knocks upon the door, and Ella was up. Foraging through her clothing hastily she began to tug off that dress to wear a deep red-maroon dress, the gold embroidery standing out as she placed over the apron once more, and tried to fix those gold locks.
"Daniella! Daniella, are you up yet? Daniella! Daniel--" Opening the door, hastily grabbing the woman's wrist Daniella yanked her inside and closed the door.
"Good heavens child, what have you been doing?"
"Shh, it's alright madam, quiet down or you'll start up the Miss..." Ella said with a soft smile to her. She fixed her hair hastily, brushing it back away from her face as the elderly woman sighed softly. There was so much going on, Ella was sure.
"Daniella, today is the day. A noble is comming to pick out one of Lady D'Arc's servents to purchase, mainly because she has too many. We fear the lord may wish for the youngest, and she certainly may have no problem with ridding herself of you." Daniella offered a soft warm smile and shook her head.
"Don't worry at all, we'll be fine. I will be right in after I tend to the horses..." Lifting the bottom to her dress to keep it from dragging, Daniella made her way out of the manor home toward the stables, greeting the other servents of the home in process. Entering through the stables, she caught sight of something odd. She spotted a black horse, one of their own, exiting just barely in a tap of hooves. Following hastily, she walked out into the pasture, slowing suddenly.
"Hey! You, stop! What are you doing with that horse...are you a horse theif?" She demanded, halting the rider in his place. He was hooded, up this early, and riding off with one of their horses. She paused and glared, prepared to defend for the horse. Today may be challenging.
