Or in other words, what kind of bed do you have?

I have a king sized captain's bed (platform bed with compartments underneath) with a water tube mattress (multiple individual water tubes inside a foam mattress - no heater, no motion).

What do you have?

For those with water beds, do you find conventional water beds have too much motion or "give" to have fun on? I dislike my ex's water bed - it feels like I am moving around in quick sand.

I have a single bed, with a shelf instead of a head board..... It use to be the top of a set of bunk beds...... I know but it's comfterbel :D

but No gymnastics done on it yet.

Polyester/cotton blend woven rope hammock, built for two.

Plush queen size. I can't stand a hard bed. No gymnastics done in it for a long time tho. :(

Bed: Standard double, worn out firm mattress with box springs.

Settee: 72 inch long, 18inch deep, firm foam cussions, coil spring base.

Floor: Padded carpet over slab.

Haven't used the car for ages.

standard twin size college residence hall bed... nope, i dont get a choice what kind of bed i have... at least not yet anyway

in the rear seat of my raggedy patrol car.
if the weather is pleasant- on the hood :)
the holding cell makes a nice comfy spot too.

-sobs-

We had a nice large bedroom at our old place. With a nice large comfortable california king bed. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Or done anything else on.

NOW... we moved to a room that was 3 inches to small to accomadate the bed. We settled for taking hubby's grandma's spare full size. The mattress is one of the reeeeeeeallly old ones that weigh about 200 pounds (literally, it took 2 strong burly men to get the damn thing in the house), and it is lopsided. It slides away from the wall, and towards the floor anytime there is anyone on it.

To top it off, from the kids jumping on it, there is a HUGE dent right in the middle where springs have collapsed.

But, since we -pray- may be moving again soon, I refuse to buy a new mattress. The next room WILLLLLLLLL accomadate my nice huge comfy bed. :)

Regular run-of-the-mill full size box spring type. But I usually prefer the floor.

Just can't seem to get the hang of 'sexual gymnastics' on a waterbed. I guess I'm not that coordinated?

But...I like Domcop's places better! ;)

I agree! I've never understood the mystique of the waterbed. At least the first ones had no footboard and you're right the motion is just too..soggy. I like firm, but the floor's a little hard on the knee caps. I haven't seen anything better than the conventional mattress/box springs for horizontal gumnastics..but I'll have mine with a footboard...added traction!

Same here. I need a firm mattress, but then, I have to have the nice eggshell thingy over it, and a mattress pad over that. Makes it soft on the very top surface, but nice and firm and supportive, too!

Gilly, you're my twin! I'm the same way, with pillows too. I have a nice, very firm one on the bottom, and a soft, feather one on top.

Not that I'm a princess or anything. ;)

-groans- I need to have like 5 pillows to sleep. Especially now, with the large oversized basketball shaped belly!

Gilly, I'm 2.5 years from my last pregnancy and I'm only down to 4 pillows. I still use the body pillow. It's wonderful! Great for the back. My husband complains that it's like having another person in bed with us though. Oh well, men like three-somes, right? ;) Two under my head, and one to cover my head. I don't know - it helps me sleep. *shrug*

We've got an aging queen size plain-frame bed, which I've had since high school. It's old and tired, but it's got a lot of great memories attached to it, so I'm kinda reluctant to let it go.

At least, until I find the perfect steel bedframe to accommodate a variety of bindings. Then, I'll trade the old one in for a brand new set-up, and I'll do it with a smile. Or maybe a leer. :)

I'm sooo jealous right now. Hmm...now I want to go furniture shopping.

Dammit, guys. Hearing about your fun toys makes me want to go out and spend money. That can't be good.
