I've noticed in recent threads that quite a few authors need to catch up on their reading at the site.

So two questions;

Which category do you prefer to read?

In which category do you prefer to write?

(question three as an after thought; should this be a poll? Corollary: should this be two threads with seperate polls?)

(Questions 1 and 2 are mandatory. Question 3 and it's corollary should be submitted on plain paper [written on one side only] and sent to the usual address with the necessary remittance)

PS Incest and Incest/mature respectively for me. (although I do tend to include a bit more than just incest and/or mature when I get carried away)

Dear Gauchie,
Why do "quite a few authors need to catch up on their reading at the site?"
MG

I merely noted that quite a few authors had written in various threads that they don't read as many stories as they would like/are able to.

No offence intended at all.

New; also, in no particular order, Group, Anal, Erotic Couplings... Actually I don't usually pay much attention to the category unless I just don't like it very much.
In which category do you prefer to write?
Every story I've written has been in a different category so far, and the next two or three will also be in different categories. I don't actually know what all the categories are, either.
(question three as an after thought; should this be a poll? Corollary: should this be two threads with seperate polls?)
Yes. I think it should be three threads with four separate polls.

If I get writer's block again, Gauchie, I'll get depressed every time I see your sig line.

I like to read New, Erotic Couples, Romance, Anal, and so on. The order depends on the mood I'm in at the time.

I don't necessarily search out BDSM, gay/lesbian, etc., if I happen to start on a story in the New category that is in any of these categories, I'll finish it and try to be objective when sending feedback.

I tend to write more in the Erotic Couples category, although some of my work is leaning toward romance. I sure that at least one could fit into a couple of different categories.

I'm not sure how a poll would work since we all seem to favor several categories, just MHO.

No offense taken.........

Oh, the questions. Yes. DurtGurl writes what DurtGurl writes. It's sort of indescribable and that's best. I've quit. I have never read much smut, and I still do that.

I generally read stories in Lesbian or BDSM, sometimes toys & masturbation, really depends on what mood I'm in. Sometimes some of the more obscure categories like sci-fi & fantasy, but it's difficult to find a good story there. TBH it's been a long time since I read anything that I actually thought was good or original, but maybe I'm just being miserable...

I have only written in Novels & Novellas because of the length of my story. The next is likely to be a novel, and probably the one after that too. i keep starting shorts but I'm never happy enough to finish them, I don't like the idea of writing a single scene. It seems somehow incomplete.

1) Interracial, gay male.
2) Gay male, interracial, sci-fi & fantasy.
3)No.
4)No.

I prefer to read BDSM and nonconsent, I prefer to write nonconsent (and poetry, damnit, whether I suck ass at it or not)

I think this worked better not being a poll, because rather than trying to find out the number of people that write categories/read categories I was more interested in what specific friends had to say.

1) i prefer to read Non-human; Sci-Fi/Fantasy, however, the span that they cover makes it difficult to tell what you're getting into. I also read Group Sex/Erotic Coupings, and nowadays, Erotic Horror, though so far, there's a lot to be desired from that category.

2) Though i tend to write Horror or suspense or sci-fi away from the board, non-erotic I mean, I tend to write either group sex, or couplings. Though I'll be hitting home with the Sci-Fi one I'm working on if I ever finish it.

3) What does it matter if it's a poll or not?

4) Two separate polls? See my answer to #3.

I'm one of the ones who sorely needs to catch up on some reading.

Category-wise for reading, I am more likely to cruise the top lists in Sci-Fi, Novels, Erotic Horror, and Non-Consent. But in general, I'm more likely to hunt down stories by known names, regardless of category.

For writing, the majority of my stuff thus far has been in Novels & Novellas (thanks to the epic 20-chapter The Ravishing of Constance, which spans at least half a dozen categories <g>) and Fantasy (my older works). Recently, I've enjoyed challenging myself by branching out into other categories. My next goal is Erotic Horror.

Dear Sable,
That's interesting. DurtGurl and I are involved with horrible erotica. It all evens out, I guess.
