America has killed a few hundred more innocent vilagers through inaccurate bombing...

You think they would stop for the New Year wouldn't you.

I'd be surprised if they stop for anything now.

What the hell were they meant to be bombing? They say an ammunition dump housing a few Taleban and al Queida soldiers. I would have thought the overwhelming forces of one of the Alliances could have mopped up that little lot.

It didn't need bombing from a safe area five miles high.

Maybe a few more innocents would then have been alive today.

:(

What part of "WAR" don't folks understand...................................

If they would not stop On Ramadan why on new years

The bomb makers need to get rid of existing stocks before the new year.

But the American military is bomb crazy..... you should know that by now.....

They think by blowing the shit out of something they can win..... but sending in the ground troops would do a much better job and kill less innocent people.

- I'm not putting down the military here people but if you feel like I am flame away.

Sounds to me like their posistion is, why run the risk of sending in ground troops and risking the loss of life when the same problem can be solved in a more strategic way. Does it possibly put civillians at risk, yep sure does, but as Wiz says "What part of "WAR" don't folks understand..................................."?

Fucking hell!

Re-read your own post. Then go away and think again.

"Does it possibly put civillians at risk, yep sure does"

What a crass statement...

:(

I'm sure they had their reasons. But if we listened to all your "first reports" America would have lost 11,000 helocopters and the Taliban would be advancing on Los Angeles.

Once again PP... bollocks. Nothing at all wrong with Neotragiis post in my opinion. There is a POSSIBILITY that some innocents will get hurt or killed even if they stopped all bombing and just relied on ground action.

Reality check time p_p_man. The alliance is waging war against cowardly motherfuckers who wouldn't think twice about killing innocents. Do you remember what started all this shit? In war people get killed, that is the nature of the beast. The alliance is hopefully going to track down and eliminate every Al Queda piece of shit, because if they don't it is only going to be a matter of time before September the 11th happens all over again. Maybe in England, or Australia, or even here in New Zealand.

Yes I feel sorry for the innocent victims, but not enough to wish the alliance would stop dropping their payloads on targets in the war zone. If you can't handle the realities of wartime, then stop reading about it... and give up the doom and gloom bullshit. Wars happen, people die, the sun will still rise tomorrow.

Happy New Year.

Sorry you don't like the way I think or express my self P P Man, well not really but it sounded good. A someone once said "War is hell", people WILL die. I do feel sorry for the innocents but that does not mean that I think we should fight this war any different. There is no such thing as a war without death, and there is no such thing as accurate bombing. Even with the advances in TV, Laser, and GPS guided bombs there are too many links in the chain that can fail. The faster this war is over, the fewer the people that die.

But it didn't come across as though you were expressing yourself. All you did was trot out the old worn out phrases that "innocents get killed in war", that "war is hell" and that "people will die".

When you actually get around to expressing yourself in your own thoughts and not in someone else's my reply to you would have been less vehement.

All you're saying is that you're sorry innocents get killed (murdered is probably a more appropriate word) but as long as they're not American civilians and only a few hundred backward tribesman in an already bombed out country courtesy of the USAF, then that makes everything alright.

After all "War is Hell"...

I'll say again fucking hell. Read what you're writing. If you actually believe your own words and are not writing them for affect get immediate medical attention...

There's traces of psychopathic xenophobia in your psyche...

:)

Dr. p_p_man strikes again.

Practicing medicine (and psychiatry is a field of medicine) without a license is a felony, PP.

Perhaps you should think before you start accusing someone of being insane. It's getting quite old.

Hi p_p_man... was wondering if you were going to come back to your thread. Posting then baling out without addressing the debate is also getting old.

(murdered is probably a more appropriate word)

Peepee, please don't say another word until 2002. Then I can remember the above as the most incredibly stupid statment of the year, even by your moronic standards.

I got ya wupped there Miles... I'm 18 hrs into 2002 and so far it has to be the dinger of the year.

That's pretty much like me...... I'm well into 2002 and it is shaping up to be a damn good year if this is just the first day. :D

Again I see no solid arguments...

against what I say. Just the usual, snide clever-dick remarks, which flow easily from the mind but can be given no further credence.

OK. Just why did the USAF bomb a village killing over 100 civilians? As you're Governemnt is already squirming in front of the world trying to justify their action be sure of your facts before you answer.

No-one is going to believe the lie that they had it pin-poiinted as an ammunition dump.

So what are they going to come up with next?

It would be a far better response to admit they made a mistake (for Chrissakes they've made enough of them in this "war") and start preparing reparations, than start wriggling like a hooked eel.

:(

Yeah I was getting frustrated myself.

There were a few threads, my own included, I posted to but when I submitted my computer kept crashing. It's taken me a few days to fix the problem.

Funny enough I only had the problem here on Lit.

Maybe I was being sabotaged!

:D

Can you validate any of this rant... how about links to credible reports that this was NOT an ammo dump. Or even links to the actual event.

What do you actually know about modern warfare, apart from what you have read in the news? I got news for you. The days of two bodies of men lined up opposite each other slowly advancing into gales of musket fire is over, and no amount of Mel Gibson movies are going to bring it back. Do you really think that the Taleban and Al Queda sat down and said "Well we had better not put an ammo dump there because it will ultimately harm the local populace." Like hell. They put munitions dumps, and the like, as close to civilian sites as possible to discourage what the Yanks are doing.

Stop hiding behind pseudo intellectual psychobabble and actually debate the issue.
