I just discovered T.E. Lawrence's, SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM. It truly is a literary masterpiece.
I knew Lawrence was queer but am surprised at how he framed it in the book. Its not exactly coming out of a closet to the applause of friends & family, there's no shame or apology in it, its more like a revelation that he and his comrades shared what they had, and they had little.
I'm also surprised at how good the writing is.
"All the revision in the world will not save a bad first draft: for the architecture of the thing comes, or fails to come, in the first conception, and revision only affects the detail and ornament,"
