And I just learned that today.

Why was I never told of this?

Thank the gods for Al Gore inventing the Internets.

Australia's Vietnam veterans got nearly as bad a deal as the US's.

Some of them were banned by some branches of the RSL - the Returned Servicemen's League - Australia's veteran organisation, because they didn't fight in a 'proper' war. What made the ban worse, was that some German WW2 soldiers resident in Australia were allowed to join the RSL.

That makes me sad.

Now I am fucking depressed.

The M16A1 was semi-auto. The M60 LMG was full-auto.

The M4 carbine is a family of firearms tracing its lineage back to earlier carbine versions of the M16 rifle, all based on the original AR-15 rifle designed by Eugene Stoner and made by ArmaLite. The M4 is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 assault rifle, with 80% parts commonality.[4]
It is a gas-operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed, selective fire, shoulder-fired weapon with a telescoping stock. A shortened variant of the M16A2 rifle, the M4 has a 14.5 in (370 mm) barrel, allowing its user to better operate in close quarters combat. The M4 has selective fire options including semi-automatic and three-round burst (like the M16A2 and M16A4), while the M4A1 has the capability to fire fully automatic instead of three-round burst (like the M16A1 and M16A3). The carbine is also capable of mounting an M203 grenade launcher (the M203A1 with a 9-inch barrel as opposed to the standard 12-inch barrel of the M203 used on the M16 series) as well as its successor, the M320 grenade launcher.
The M4 carbine is heavily used by the U.S military. It is slated to eventually replace the M16 rifle for most combat units in the United States Army.[5] The winner of the Individual Carbine competition might supplement the M4 carbine in U.S. Army service. This is for the US Army only while all other services will continue to use the M4 carbine and M16 rifles.

Thanks to all the Australians who fought and died along side American and South Vietnamese in our struggle against communism. I learned about their roll while travelling in the UK there was a news report about improving their benefits.

The 2nd Royal Australian Squadron was based with us, mostly they were drunk and obnoxious. Christmas morning a drunken herd of them, smelling like a high school prom party about 4AM, staggered to the orphanage to serenade the children with obscene carols.

Standard infantry arms in 'Nam were select fire. They could be used either as semi-auto or full auto, depending.

Those Aussies have L1A1's . . . nice rifles.

Australia was settled by Neanderthals chased outta Europe, and Niggaz expelled from Africa.

Plus the niggas already there!

Don't tell me you forgot those...

There were people there... makin' bonfires and shit...

You cant believe what no Ozzie says! They were Neanderthal Trailer Trash, and chased from Britain by the Romans, thru Europe, into Asia, and finally to Australia. The Niggaz got there after they caused lotsa problems back in Africa, and were tied to coconut logs and set adrift into the Indian Ocean.
