I have a question. I wrote several stories based upon and inspired by pictures posted by various artists on another website (done with their permission and approval of course). Since they're picture inspired stories and not rewritten versions of others, do you think I could post them on Literotica, or are the rules the same?

First, you don't have to get an artist's permission to write a story inspired by their artwork. (you could even stand in front of the artwork and create your own version of the artwork--including trying to mimic it exactly--and you don't have to request permssion.)

Second, the stories are yours; you can post them anywhere you like.

If you repeat passages from someone else's work without their permission (copyright violation) or use trademarked characters in your own story (trademark violation) is a different matter than writing something "inspired" by something else--anything else.

As long as the stories are your own, it doesn't matter what inspired them.

If you intend to include the pictures as an illustrated story, that presents a problem. The story and the images have to be produced by the author, so you're out of luck there.

Also, real photos are quite restricted in what sort of activity they can depict. Nudity is fine, but any touching of naughty bits is strictly forbidden in photos of real people. Illustrations ( in whatever medium ) are not subject to this resctriction, and can be as naughty as you want them to be.
