Old ideas that never took off

I think my writers block has just had its first budge in months!

I pulled a notebook off the shelf that I used to take to work and write in during breaks. In it are dozens of story ideas, and story beginnings that never even got as far as the computer. I wrote them by hand in the corner of the break room, my twisted imagination jumping from one subject to another, and by the time I would arrive at home I would be itching to type up something completely different. Today when I looked at those old college ruled sheets all the ideas came swarming back. I read ten pages of a story that I'd started and never even gotten past the intro, and suddenly my brain remembered where the story was supposed to go, and I fell in love with the main character again.

It's like I've been reborn. I feel rejuvinated. I feel wonderful. I'm writing the story!

Does anyone else have wonderful things like this happen in their darkest hour? I'd almost believed I was out of passion for writing.

Yes! I'm so full of ideas right now that I can't wait to type them out. There's only one problem - I have to write something totally different and my mind can't get off the sex stories for Lit.

Just goes to show - you're never too young to have old ideas!

Will's :)

Been there, done that.:)
I even have a list of story ideas for Lit only, sorted by category. I'll give them a chance after NaNo is finished.

Doing it this minute Chickie, the lunacy I'm writing for NaNo is based on a thing I was mulling over and scribbling bits down about 5 or 6 yrs ago, but never got the inspiration to write it back then. Got 30,000 words of it written so far since Nov/01.

So trawling past thoughts and notes does seem to work sometimes.

I love old notes, some times the stories never do get finished but scouring Lit. I have often come across a topic that may even be mentioned in a silly response in an area I do not post and it sends my mind searching.
Later when I read an unfinished piece I sometimes get a whole new thought and place the two or three ideas together.

Old thoughts do more writen down then thrown away.

Dear Quaz,
I certainly hope you're not going to try typing it out, though.

Ps. I found the "Organ donors" in the MoL script. Thank you.

Typing out what I am full of, is your speciality, Math.

BTW: I would appreciate if you could relay your father's estimation of the value of "dead" organ transplants, as opposed to "live" organ transplants.

Dear Quaz,
I think it's a one-way street with him. Stuff comes out, never goes in. He could probably fix you up with some nice pharyngeal polyps, though. Doubt they've ever been transplanted, though. You could make medical history.

I'm a bit late into this thread but wanted to post! Writing down your thoughts as and when they happen is important. Unfortunately I'm not one to practice what I preach. I tend to store it away in my brain so it never resurfaces.

Your post has given me inspiration to write down my ideas.
