Okay so I wanted something truly good for dinner tonight. I had no idea what I was going to make when I hit the grocery store and had an open mind. I just told my wife I would find something.

First stop was the meat aisle where I slowly walked along the cold case looking. There before my eyes rested a nicely marbled chunk of Sirloin Roast. When I say nicely marbled I'm talking quite a bit of fat. It was on sale so I picked it up. Then I had an idea.

I scampered across the store and grabbed an onion then on to the bakery where I grabbed some hard rolls. Everything else I needed was at home.

This evening I started working.

The meat was cut into smallish cubes as was the onion.

Into the bowl went the Onion and the meat. To this was added several Tablespoons of "Slap Ya Momma" and four pieces of String Cheese cut into small cubes. All of this was run through the grinder back into the bowl where it was hand mixed again before being formed into several largish patties.

The Patties were grilled to perfection, (if I must say so myself) and topped with Pepper Jack Cheese before being placed on the rolls. Top with some rings of fresh Onion, a little Lettuce and a dab of good BBQ Sauce and you're talking about heaven.

That sounds orgasmic!!!...tell me, where can I find a bottle of Slap your Mamma?

Have you ever noticed how often you write in a passive voice?
You could have written your recipe this way;

I cut the meat and the onion cut into smallish cubes, and threw them into a bowl.

I added several Tablespoons of "Slap Ya Momma" and four pieces of String Cheese cut into small cubes. I ran all of this through the grinder back into the bowl where I hand mixed it before making several largish patties.

But you took your self out of the action.
Just a random observation. :)

I can't decide if you're teasing or not.

I am teasing-- with my editor's hat on! ;)

It's a construction that you will notice in most of Cat's cooking or "making something" type posts. Just... interesting.

Oh, 'cause he had 16 "I's" in those seven paragraphs. Most of them in the first four, so I thought he probably got tired of using "I". :D

Sorry, Cat, for talking about you on your own thread.:rose:

First question first.

"Slap Ya Momma".

Here's their website:

http://www.slapyamama.com/

Unasked for but here it is as well. The Everglades Heat Website:

http://www.evergladesseasoning.com/

Now as for the second question about my writing style when posting these recipes. I may start the post as a first person talking style but then I transition into a more tradition directions based style.

I suppose I could maintain the first style in the method of some of the greats on TV and even toss in some ancedotes but I'm not sure how well that would go over. (Not to mention it could turn a fairly simple short posting into a multi-page post before a reply was even thought of.)

"Before anyone could even reply" :cattail:>

You know, though, what I wish? I wish you would gather all of these recipes that you've posted in *one thread at a time* over the years, and blog them on blogger.com or wordpress.com.
Or http://open.salon.com/

I bet you could get some dedicated readers! My tummy is rumbling...

I have some forty or fifty recipes in M.S. Word right now. All recipes that I have made more than a few times and enjoy. One of these days I'll start sorting them into types then putting them in some format like PDF.

One of my problems is I have so many recipes in my mind that I have never written down, and so many that I'm constantly playing with. Then I have those I come up with on the spur of the moment. (Much like the burgers above.)
