A ray of common sense in flyover country. Oklahoma's "Handmaiden Law" which requires women to die rather than get a life-saving abortion, has been overturned in its entirety by the Oklahoma Supreme Court 6-3. It seems that efforts to save a woman's life are paramount to saving the life of a fetus in Oklahoma. Oklahoma legistlators, in their rush to enact "punish the slut" legislation, failed to make this provision "severable" from the rest of this fetid mass of law, so the entire abortion bill was declared unconstitutional.

Huzzah. A win for truth, justice and teh American way! A stinging defeat for teh Fascists!

and all Oklahoma women should be looking very hard at the 3 who voted to endanger them

Unfortunately....
The Oklahoma Attorney General, who hates women more than Ishmael hates Negroes, declared that since the new law was declared unconstitutional, he was gonna enforce some ancient 1910 law (which the OK Supreme Court told him not to do), setting up yet another constitutional crisis in Oklahoma.

I'd settle for just knowing they'll keep this in mind next November. It's a secret ballot, your husband doesn't need to know...

So? It's a state issue. They have every right to rule one way or the other.

Looks like 'God' is trying to wash away the filth the GOP has been spreading.

Note Oklahoma, Texas, Idaho and Florida.

...until one of the front-runner presidential candidates proposes a national ban that supercedes the "States Rights" where the laws currently protect abortion access. In which case, "States Rights" not only go out the window, but the same people, (e.g.. YOU), who applaud the "states Rights" idea will suddenly applaud the "Federal Overreaching Ban" as a great thing, as the thought of government over-reach into women's lives (or really, EVERYONE's lives) always seems to get your hormones flowing.

And yeah, to the post above: There was in fact huge flash flooding in Idaho on Tuesday. Streets and yards were flooded in my city.
