My husband just explained to me why the right wing is freaking-out over the new Hunter Biden special counsel. It’s because the prosecutor will have the authority to follow up on leads connecting Biden’s laptop to Russian intelligence.

What started as an attempt to create a false equivalence between Biden and Trump could end up exposing how throughly the Republicans have been co-opted by a foreign power.

Whoa! Hold on there Sparky. Merrick Garland has appointed to Special Prosecutor status the prosecutor that 31 Republican congress critters demanded he appoint. Now that he has done AS THEY DEMANDED HE DO they are flip-flopping with a "...alleged that Weiss “was a U.S. Attorney hand-picked to lead this investigation who spent the last five years covering it up” Per Senator (I use that title because I have to not because I believe he is anyway worthy of the job) Ted Cruz.

So which is it, faux Libertarian? Do the GOPers in Congress want Wiess as a Special Prosecutor or not? It seems they can't make up their mind which. It appears that satisfying the Republican demands for an investigation into Hunter and Joe is a no-win situation no matter how Garland goes about it because they just move the goalposts to the other end of the field and declare it a coverup.

And I'd bet ten to one that if Garland fired Wiess tomorrow that narrative from Cruz and the rest would once again flip-flop to "Oh My God! They fire him to cover up for Hunter and Joe!" Christ on a crutch.
