What's the allure? What's yer turn on?

Big masculine butch? Lipstick babe with some sort of hard edge? Or "turning" a hetro-like good girl?

What?

What do you like? Explain "the scene" out there.

Who goes with whom?

Can anything happen? Or is there a patern?

aww and i thought you were wanting a fight sparky :)

for me i love feminine type girls ... but i dont have an interest in making "straight" girls turn (although it sounds quite fun) :)

with my girlfriend and i we both still act like girls ... she doesnt pretend to be the man or whatever we both wear skirts and make up :)

im not really part of any scene the only lesbian i know is my girlfriend

what do you mean can anything happen or is there a pattern ? :)

Hmmmmmm?????

What do I mean "there is a pattern?"

Well.....

My Lesbian girl friends tend to run "butch/fem" - maybe not as obvious as most clueless Amercano's might think but - definately, a "male type" and a "female type." At least here in DC. Queer Capito of the East.

Next up I observe - my mother's into breeding dogs - is the seeming - masculine/masculine couples - I mean big and beefy, both of them, short hair, you know - guy/girls.

After that - living in NYC and actually having a - Bi-friendly wife (the wonderful and beautiful Shebabe) - the "lipstick/fem types" are relatively few - at least "publicly speaking" - the others tend to be "more out" but when it comes to - girls looking like girls and girls liking girls - it's more hidden.

Hense my "pattern" reference.

to be honest, i like girls who look like girls......girls that act like girls....if i wanted a man i'd get one....

Yeah well, this is just an assumption but......

One might thing that - if you might be a lesbian - you would "know the scene" - the "entire scene."

You preference is of course - your preference - but there are "other preferences."

From a Lesbian's view point - what are they?

Group them.

i think perhaps the fem/fem types tend not to be as noticable they maybe look like just two good friends :)

i think its a slight myth about lesbians one being the man and one being the woman

but i can only really talk for myself and my girlfriend

Visit DC babe -

And if you "visit the right places" you will see that the Male/Female Lesbian combo - is fairly out there.

i dont really know all that much about the gay scene ... i dont goto gay pride marches i dont goto gay clubs ... i dont know any other lesbians ... i dont feel a need to seek them out either

yeah i know the lesbian butch/fem thing is out there ... but i think its a myth that most lesbians are like that ... most are just normal everyday girls that like other girls :)

i do know theres alot of stuff some lesbians do that i dont get ... when the butch thing is taken the extreame girls sticking on fake beards and stuff ... i guess i can understand why some girls would want to be a man (not me) ... but why would other lesbians fancy them ? hmmm

If sexy-girl says it then it must be true.. even though she admits to knowing no other lesbain but her girlfriend and not being part of any 'community'.

Sparky? Can bi women answer this or is it just for true lesbians?

If the latter, why discriminate against the opinions of bi women?
Don't our impressions count?

If the former...

From a sexual/relationship standpoint, it is individual people that attract me. Without volition, i respond to particular kinds/types of people, and my response has nothing at all to do with their sexual orientation.

I have had two important F/f relationships in my life, and three M/f. I suppose i'm more angled toward men than women but it's a pretty close thing. In both my F/f relationships, the woman was a strongly focused Domme (first), and then (simply happened to be) a woman. In both cases, she was feminine, like me. I've never been attracted to butch women; it's an aesthetic and almost deliberate choice on my part.

I'm a fem sub. I like/need/require a strongly able Dom/me. anything can happen from there.

I love bi-fems

I have been living with various sets of bi-fems for almost six years...

I have nothing against lesbians..I understand their attraction to each other, but since I am excluded from participating in the activities, I prefer bi-females..

My answer may not have addressed the thread's topic very well--I've had a long day and night, my apologies to the thread's orginator...

I love bi-fems!

Of course Bi-fems have a voice here....

However - you may not know - but I am pretty experienced on this subject.

DC, NYC and years of experience have provided me with many friends and gays are no problem at all with me - I have a rainbow of very good friends from all sexual walks of life.

And "everyday, normal, feminine, "lipstick type" for lack of a more politically correct term - are either - in the extreme minority or simply "camoflaged."

Bi-women, or Bi-curious women - are everywhere - I married one.

Of the long-term Lesbian couples I know - all - have a masculine {short hair, no make-up, pants, guy-like} partner - and a softer, more female-type partner.

My best bud - is "the midget, Texan, Dyke from hell" (that's what I jokingly call her - she rides a motorcycle, plays rockin' guitar, likes very physical activity - she's butch - but a WOMEN - big time. She always fantizes about the Shebabe by the way (but probably won't ever happen - Shebabe likes lipstick types) and is a God mother to our new son.

Her partner is "everyday fem" - you would not know she's gay unless she informed you.

They are trying to adodpt but - it's hard.

Anyway - this is what - this combo - is what I witness the most. Maybe other combinations are less visable.

lol ... exactly :)

to be fair i was just commenting on something i saw on telly ... and lets be honest every sexuality and community has its wacky parts homosexuality is no exception :)

its interesting what sparky is saying though ... i honestly dont know if most lesbian couples one "acts as the man" while other is the "helpless female" ... or another words butch/fem ... i dont see anything wrong with butch/fem realationships though just as longs as the two people are happy

Sparky it seems to me like you're just buying into the stereotype, as in some lesbians are "manly" and some gay men are "femmy". That's true, but some straight men and women have traits of the other sex, too.

That's a real pet peeve of mine. People automatically assume I'm a lesbian because my hair is short and I don't wear skirts. I'm an outdoorsy type, so my clothing reflects that. Ever try to fish in high heels? I rest my case. I'm not gay, or even bi, but I guess some would consider me "butch".

The point I'm trying to make is there is never a pattern. My friend Paul is straight as an arrow, but effeminate. Another friend, Lisa, is masculine, and she is a lesbian. I think you watched "Ellen" too much. There is no "gay vibe".

it's the person, not the stereotype.

Lizzie-chan gets me going. *smirks*

I'm going to kick this up here until Cheyenne gets the image of a goatee'd Never out of her mind.

I'm only attracted to women who look like women. Why would I be a lesbian if I wanted a woman that looked like a guy?

"I'm only attracted to women who look like women. Why would I be a lesbian if I wanted a woman that looked like a guy?"

Some lesbains can tell the difference between looking masculine and being a man.
