Click on your control panel link... and don't forget to set you options - you can choose to get an email notice when you have a PM - but I prefer the "open PM in new window" notice so that when you're on lit you get immediate notice that someone has PM'd you.

Hit the Control Panel button at the top of this screen, then look for another little square that says Private Messaging... You should be able to figure it out from there
