Okay, I admit that Trump isn't new Hitler.

I honestly thought that he was. Instead, he's something as bad or possibly worse. He's a loose cannon. He's a complete blank canvas. He has absolutely no real program for this country and no real plan for how to run it. He has no clear, consistent message, other than xenophobia, protectionism, isolationism, and hooliganism.

Of course, as a blank canvas and a chameleon of sorts, people are able to read anything into him that they want. Which is why Bob Dole and Newt Gingrich can read him as a "populist," while others, including myself, tended to view him as a fascist or the new Hitler.

Although Donald Trump has recently been compared by many in the media to Adolph Hitler, and admittedly some of the things he proposes (such as sending out the jackboots to round up millions of unwanted Latinos) do sound Hiterlesque and, in spite of the fact that he reminds us of the Nazis when he calls out certain ethnic and religious groups (such as Mexicans and Muslims) for national opprobrium, his methods and his appeal are much closer to those of the actual founder of “Fascism,” Benito Mussolini.

Benito Mussolini appealed to “Italian Exceptionalism,” to the greatness of the Roman Empire. He attracted underemployed working class Italians and veterans of World War I who felt ill-used by the Italian élite, who saw their country, once cultural capital of Europe and master of the Mediterranean, left behind by the great powers, Britain, France and America.

He blamed liberals and the unpatriotic intelligentsia for Italy’s demise. Only a totalitarian state and the crushing of Italy’s enemies, domestic as well as foreign, could allow the nation to rise to its rightful place in the sun.

Now, Donald Trump uses the anger and bitterness of the least-educated, most often white working-class and older rural Americans, those for who modernity and ethnic diversity are code words for the undermining of “American exceptionalism” and their own perceived loss of social status vis-à-vis minorities and immigrants of color.

He's a flip-flopper. Sometimes Mussolini, sometimes Hitler.

Hitler was an intellectual and an artist, of a kind. Donald Trump does not have enough imagination or intelligence to bear comparison with Hitler.

Donald Trump is your cranky old neighbor, who just happens to have money and a young trophy wife. He's clearly senile and a bit of a loose cannon, and despite knowing him for years, he's spouted so many incoherent and contradictory ramblings that you still don't really know what he actually believes.

You fools are too funny.

Hitler hadda plan, he had lotsa plans. he took office about the same time FDR took office (1933), and the Depression in Germany was over within 2 years. Many say Hitler woulda been Germanys greatest hero had he left office in 1938. Stalin murdered many millions more than Hitler, and you worship Stalin.

Trump isn't Hitler, he's Napoleon.

Fascists are PRAGMATIC SOCIALISTS, that is, socialists with plans that work, with priorities the Germans shared.

On average, Trump spends 13 cents for every vote he gets, Hillary spends $3.50 per vote, because her money goes for bribes, and she cant shake an old bastard off her ass.
