EDIT: i had typed the word h o u s e, but after a couple of posts it began to appear as a green link to housing (buy/rent etc...,). when i tried editing the word out, it refused to change several times but now has. if anyone's seeing it as a link, i don't think you should click it. flamin' adverts!!!

We're all having weather.
really?

do tell

no doubt our snow n stuff is piffling compared to the states' weatheriness, but we're not so used to such inclement weather right on top of easter.

brrrrr

I gather it sucks more than usual?
heavy snow/blizzard conditions from the top of uk down to the midlands, drifting south, and torrential rain with landslides/flooding further south-west. by saturday night/sunday, the snow should be down here where i am. i hope the fuck it stays away. it's boring now.

since it's sinking southwards, you might be in for some of the white stuff. with any luck the sun'll be out next week and spring will boiiinnnggggg

No problems here yet, but the sea is fairly rough.
south coasting?

good good, and i'm sure you've seen worse. so long as the sea remembers where it ends and the land begins, you should be fine ;)

it's not the first time i've seen snow into march, and probably won't be the last but the cold and the dark and the wet are a royal pain in the arse.

Thames Estuary. I'm 10 metres above the highest point of the 1953 Storm Surge.

I remember 1947 and 1962/63. In the latter winter I had just moved to Gosport and was commuting on the Gosport Ferry. The Blitz hadn't stopped the ferry. Icebergs in Portsmouth Harbour did, so I caught an Admiralty steam launch, charging through the fog and icebergs at full speed.

luckier than some, then - hiya WD. got spare candles at the ready? poor beggars with the heating out today

Hey chippy! (Always wanted to be called bap pastie)

Just heard on the news it was the whole of Belfast that went out!!

aw bless! :( poor li'l wooly thing

The snow doesn't affect sheep as much as the rain does.
Snow seems to create a blockout for the wind, but rain (continuous rain) eventually soaks through to the skin and often we'll find sheep who are so waterlogged they can't get up any more.

yes, i know, but the snow is creating extra problems for farmers needing to get the new lambs out onto pasture.
