I really need a new state to move to.

I asked this a week ago, and got.....

Lower Michigan, and Colorado. My other option was.... the Carolinas. And a hijack by Chey about my legal difficulties. Alleged legal difficulties.

Come on, people, help me out here. I want some feedback as to what are good states to live in, and why. I only ask that it be somewhat close to a metropolitan area. Within commuting distance if needed. No Montana's here.

Don't make me pick Michigan. It's got the nod over Colorado at this point.

Colorado would have to win, over Michigan in my mind. But you are the one with a choice, not us.

Incidently, I'm going to Colorado this weekend.

My question is why do you need to move to another state?

Move to the NY suburbs and commute to the city for work. :)

I vote for Massachusetts....it is gorgeous there are beautiful suburbs within commuting distance to Boston and Providence. Well I love it here what can I say, Im a masshole.

Stuff the States..... move to New Zealand... you are welcome here anytime. :D

What are you, Cheyenne??? ;) It's my thread, I'm asking the ???'s here.

OK, why there? What are the "burbs" of NYC like? We are used to the sticks here, and the wife needs either a big garage or an out building to do her art. And she makes lots of noise, so your standard subdivision would prolly give us the boot. Bart Simpson style.

The wife lived is Welsley and Carlisle for several years, and hated it there, so that may take some convincing.

Try just outside Atlanta...out of all the places I have travelled for business...it was the nicest place and people....if you go farther out...beautiful country...real cheap ..at least compared to the North East...

The burbs of NY are pretty nice. Westchester and Rockland are right above the city, and Long Island is to the southeast. My parents currently have a five bedroom house with a garage (they're in Rockland). No one ever complained about the noise, and I used to go swimming in our pool with my friends at midnight sometimes. My sisters and brother often had friends over too, so we weren't exaclty quiet. There was never an issue.

I lived right across the street from my middle school, and about a mile and a half away from my high school. The public schools are very good there, it's clean, and relatively crime-free.

Not to fond of Worcester myself and Carlisle well it is all snobs (no offence to anyone from there) I live east of worcester and west of boston and I love it, close to everything but far enough away from most of the crap. If I could just get out of the city I would love it even more.

Not to rain on kittie's parade but...

As another masshole I'd say that you'd have to brace yourself for the traffic if you come up into the MA/CT/RI region. It's just nuts.

Now if you could jump up into NH or VT....

the only problem with Seattle is...

it takes 3 hours to get from South Seattle to North Seattle.. and that is when the traffic is good.

Move to Denver. Preferably west of town but south or north ain't bad. Get a 5mountain season ski/ride pass (Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin) for $300. Summertime perfect weather. Many 14,000ft peaks to hike. Good living, it is a clean metro area. Boulder kicks ass, flatirons. Pro Sports. Theater. Whatever. Pack up and ship out.

Okay, I have said it before and I will say it again... NORTH CAROLINA... North Western Mountains, say like Asheville or Boone. :D Or Texas, Dallas Fort Worth area. Both places are beautiful and I can come see you often. :p Baby ya gotta come down south some.

Isn't this?

Just relax and go to lower Michigan, it has everything, all four seasons, city life, country atmosphere, affordable cost of living as well as a high persentage of jobs being vastly over paid for what they do.

How about moving into space? If you go and happen to see these guys.....

Tell them how to get back to Earth. I think they're lost out there.
