Yes. I used to when I was a kid, but we had to stop using real candy canes because the dogs kept eating them and staining my mom's carpets. lol So I'm not risking that with my own carpets.

But, for the candy cane question:

When I was little, my mom would put up the tree the day after thanksgiving - candy canes and all. We would always want to have some, but mom would always say we couldn't until Christmas Eve. So, out of the 20 or so canes on the tree, only 4 were ever eaten. The rest were thrown out.

Now I don't like them.

That kinda sucks.
