I mean, wow, my first story here, and Chapter 3 has generated some serious hate and hostility, in only a few comments.. One person even practically wrote a story of comments telling me how bad my story is .. lol.

My question- I know that my kinks and story (soon to be stories) are controversial, but I've read some really, really messed up stuff far worse than mine on here, is what I'm writing (story line) really so horrible?

Post a link to your stuff so we can find it and you might have a better shot at an answer.

I didn't read your story, but I did read all the comments. You have some positive comments, but you're being sensitive about the negative. "Yes Amy, eat shit" is aimed at your character, not you. You could actually take that as a compliment.

The worst of the comments you have are nothing on the LW scale of hatred.

It reads like your story pushes a whole bunch of manosphere hot-buttons.

Meninists have, shall we say, very delicate feelings and are very vocal.

It's an Interracial category fan protesting the mix of kinks.

You might get less heat if you swapped categories to Fetish, which is where much Femdom ends up. To do that, resubmit the story with EDIT in the title, the changed category, and in the Note to Editor box, ask for the category to be changed. It would take a week or so. You won't lose any of the scores or comments.

Remember also, you can delete comments. That's your call.

LOL. It's a category thing as ElectricBlue and NotWise mentioned. That said, those are not hostile comments, believe me. Or believe us. I'd be happy with those - you got a reader reaction and comments for some fairly short chapters and the feedback was more or less on point.

You should see comments and feedback on the Loving Wives category stories. Take a look and you'll smile in relief :D

And WELCOME to the Authors Hangout. Stick around - you'll see you're not alone. :rose:

My comments

I have two stories in Loving Wives and those are insane. One story has 25+ comments of people picking fights with each other over STDs in nursing homes, for example.

If people are taking the time to comment on your story, it means you hit a nerve and they're reacting to something. That's good writing. I think votes of 1 star mean you're impacting people and having an effect on them and that's good writing.

I would rather get 20 angry, hateful comments than 1 comment that says, "not bad." At least people are feeling something and taking action steps when they read my content.

Haters comment more than lovers. Known fact.

I appreciate every death-threat and worse. They mean I've touched a reader. Any comment is better than no comment. LW gets the most views, and hate. If you want to affect people, post there.

LOVING WIVES is my favorite category for posting stories. My wares are designed to piss people off but I get few hate comments, because I don't give a shit what readers think.

Ah thanks for the support everyone. I guess being new here, I'm not used to the vibe of story comments. I've read a lot of stories here over the years, but never thought to look at comments, or even comment myself.

I agree that the category is an issue, but without a specific cuckold category, my story will never fall neatly, or even remotely, into any specific category. The 3 main elements of the story are interracial, cuckold, and femdom. I will probably follow your recommendation to edit and request a category move.

Yes. Hostile comments happen often here. Try not to personalize it.

As someone said earlier, looks like you pushed some manosphere hot buttons.

Those stories did draw some attention. That could be a good thing some times.

Even the really hostile posts are karma-positive. They indicate that you've just given some poor virgn living in mommy's basement something to do asides from playing computer games.

Welcome, first of all...

And yeah, some of those comments are entertaining, for sure. Without question, Loving Wives is the category to publish in if you want to see utter hatred and bile, the worst humanity has to offer for butthurt readers. I've become more and more convinced that they're largely incels, tbh.

I had a hate-filled troll message me about how much my story enraged them and that they wanted to slit my throat and bump me off with a sniper rifle (good luck accomplishing both). Many such comments are just plain incoherent and rage-fueled, usually all in caps and with 'U' substituting for 'YOU'. I think we've all had them and been annoyed by them, but there's no way to deal with them, aside from turning off comments entirely.

If someone told your character to eat shit, then you did something right, since they're drawing emotional responses from your readers. So take that as a compliment, anyway.

AH is a fun place (mostly) to talk about this sort of thing, and most of us have dealt with such idiocy. Just don't be thin-skinned about comments, or you'll never manage to enjoy submitting here.

Once again, welcome!

Welcome to the AH. I love reading comments almost as much as I love the stories. Stick around and be entertained and enlightened.

Welcome. It'd be great if people who liked our stuff commented as much as those who don't. That having been said I've had one or two amazing bouts of praise which have made my month. I think if you persist you develop a following - small in my case but very much appreciated - who offset the naysayers.

As noted elsewhere, one can manage or disallow comments. Or write for categories that DON'T abound with hulking loners with boners. Design cuckolds and fetishists (wittols, willing wimps) to work for and pander to readers of InterRacial, Group, Incest, BDSM, Mature, Fantasy et al. A straightforward tale with some drama or tragicomedy, decent orthography, and lots of fucking usually does well almost anywhere. I only get good comments in Group.

Must have had a long knife or be a short sighted sniper. lol. Apologies but it’s just the way my mind works.

It's not just this site - I've seen this for years on-line - but I think they give internet connections to people like Miggs who lived in the cell next to Hannibal Lecter.

We can only hope that they follow Miggs' example and one day swallow their tongues.

Just flicked through the comments and it brutal. I agree with the others but well done you for continuing to write regardless. The worse comments I tend to get are editorially related, apparently, non-con attracts people who have a ridiculous attention to detail.
I had less than favourable responses to chapter 2, my MC has a bad time of it but still nothing like the abuse you received.
Good luck!

Yikes, I thought, after reading that Loving Wives was home to the vilest commenters as I had just entered a short story called Camp Breakfast to that category.
And, yes, this morning as it is published, it seems to be bringing the "closeted" trolls out. Funny how they are ok with wives being gang banged, violently abused, humiliated, defecated on, pissed on, bruised, ripped, tortured etc. all in the duty of a good Christian wife, but, move into anything bi-sexual and the shriveled swords come out of their sheaths.

Literotica really needs to slash the anonymous commenting. Period. It's really hurting the writers on here. It's not about being overly sensitive. Hostile, non-constructive comments offer no purpose to the writers at all.
