I know it's there, just to lazy to sift through the pages.

So here's a story I've related before.

I had to work a FASEB convention in Anaheim back in the spring '76. Rolling out a new product and apparently the guy I was working the show with and I did well. Ended up with several advance orders. The Company owner bought us an upgrade to first class and a pass to the "Sun King" club (National Airlines).

I'm in the "Sun King" club wearing a Tropical Worsted, Christian Dior (Vat has that suit now), white suit, mixing myself a scotch, when I hear this voice behind me, "How ya doin' sailor?" It was Rickles. I tried to engage him but is was like engaging a pro at 'tens.' BIG mistake on my part.

There were only 7 or 8 of us in the club but on the flight to Miami he had the seat behind me. It was relentless. I gave up before we ever boarded the airplane. From LAX to MIA with Rickles on your case is NOT where you want to be.

But when we deplaned in Miami he called me aside and said, "Thanks for being a sport about the ribbing. I do this for a living and have some shows to do in town and there's nothing like a little buzz to build an audience." He was gracious and let me know he appreciated me letting him be his foil.

People aren't always what they seem to be.
