Oily Birds Coming Home To Roost For Uk

Read the article, Ducky.

Which to my mind was fairly non-specific and conjectural. America and Britain are not simple entities that are governed purely by one company's error... I also noticed the billions of dollars that the American government has payed BP in the past...

When there are no more American tourists and students in Britain and vise versa, diplomatic relations between our respective governments have failed, and we no longer appreciate each others' arts and cultures, I might begin to think you're right.

I don't see that happening soon.

In the meantime, I'll take the view that you enjoy an argument, and so the idea of your country "not liking" Britain appeals to you for its bullishly argumentative sound.

I think I'll close my contributions to this there, before this turns out all play-ground-ish.

I think I wanna nominate you for the Literotica RAINMAN Award.

You hit the nail right on the head. That describes our number one troll to a tee.

Dear Reader,

TEX and GERONIMO are former RAINMAN Award winners.

I come here to rest my imagination; I mean, this is a resort for the brain-dead, right? I simply try to do as you Romans do.

Come, come, Mr Johnson. Surely you can do better than attempting to insult my intelligence. I have enough degrees to make that a fairly worthless activity. Perhaps you would like another go?

Degrees? I'm not impressed with diplomas, everyone gets a diploma these days. Degrees signify nothing.

101 degrees signifies that it is hot out there. If ya don't believe me then don't blame me if you burn your bare/bear feet on the pavement.

Diplomas are one thing, but I don't have a diploma. Perhaps your terminology is different, though.

Maybe not everyone makes the best of their education, and maybe not everyone gets the education or recognition that they deserve (that works both ways). Whilst in Britain education has been going through a difficult period, I'm very much favour of meritocratic education that encourages genuine excellence rather than slowing it down, and recognises that there different areas of expertise rather than trying to produce millions of pseudo academics. But that's rather beside the point, which comes next, James.

Degrees signify a certain level of education. Don't pretend that education means nothing and is worth nothing. Would you care to tell a surgeon or anaesthetist that their degree means nothing just before an operation? Given your evident bravura, perhaps you would...

I've been involved in numerous cases where MDs killed their patients, and many, many MDs know virtually nothing about diagnosing. They get it wrong a lot of the time, and they kill people.

For example, when I was a larval scholar I discovered that larval MDs had zero courses about brain physiology. Psychology majors take brain physiology, not MDs. MDs get it if they specialize in psychiatry. And I ran into this when an MD referred a woman to me for headaches.

I called the MD and asked why he sent her to me, and he said THE PAIN IS IN HER HEAD...THAT'S A PSYCHIATRIC PROBLEM. And I reminded him there are no pain receptors in the brain' headaches are cardiovascular issues, or tension, or a sinus problem but never psychiatric.

So I diagnosed her and discovered a phenobarbital addiction.

I think perhaps we have vastly different experiences of MDs... My mother was unfortunate enough to not be treated thanks to an arrogant one and subsequently died. However, most of the ones I've dealt with have been both well informed and competent - some have even been brilliant.

No one can dispute your experiences. Others may have more experiences, though.

Inevitably others have more experience... but experience isn't uniformly distributed... some have the unfortunate knack of finding bad experiences, others are blessed with rolling from one good one to another. I landed somewhere in the middle.

And in all cases, shared experience is moderated experience - it levels out the bumps a bit.

Whatever you just posted reads like schizophrenic word-salad and makes less sense.

I read that a kid fell from a 17 storey building and lived; its a different experience but uncommon.

Try reading it through more slowly. It should make more sense the second time.

No, it doesnt. Word salad makes perfect sense to the schizophrenic.

I'm tempted to quote the recent Swedish paper suggesting that the creative mind mimics the schizophrenic mind in order to allow it to produce unusual correlations. I seem to remember the wording of one of the researchers being:

"To think outside of the box, it is helpful to have a less intact box."

To de-saladise my wording, I take the view that discussing experience provides a natural balance to it - it allows us to compare our experiences with those of others and decide if they are normal or not, and then to develop our ideas using a wider range of information. That's a fairly normal expectation of conversation for me, though I think it may not be for you. I am trying to draw you into sharing some of your experience to widen the eyes of the rest of us.

So far, I'm failing.

What he's saying is that your habit of eating dog shit may require some dental work in your near future.
