Just a couple of laps to go and they're fighting it out. (Complete with bad humor.)

Well Casey Kahne takes the flag and my favorite driver took eighth.

My sister loves that racer.
Who's your favorite? (I don't watch the races; don't watch anything, really since I don't get any channels.)

Ok, fill me in. Someone been driving something somewhere?

Ever heard of The Indianapolis 500? How 'bout NASCAR?
Vaugely. It's some quaint domestic US motorsport thingy, right? ;)

Yeah, I know it, but it gets less coverage than Curling over here, so I had no idea that was now.

The only time we heard of the Indy 500 was when a Brit won it because he was temporarily banned from real racing...

Not that I watch NASCAR (which is my way of saying that I'm a stranger to the racing world) but what other racing is there?

In the US, racing normally starts with the drag racing you can observe in your local streets [or you can watch the sanitized NHRA version.] Next comes various forms of circle track racing including jalopy, hardtops, go-karts, midgets, sprint cars and championship cars.

They also race motorcycles, trucks, various types of farm machinery, airplanes, etc.

Um...gee...where to start...?

Yeah, gives me the impression I'm not interested enough to hear the explanation.

Thanx anyway,

It's more like I'm not interrested enough to give the explanation. Things that go Wroooom without me in them? I couldn't care less.

But for starters, let's point you in the direction of the big kahuna.

Personnally, I would have liked to see Scott Riggs take it. For one thing, I had him in my line up for Fantasy Nascar League. (And if the Brits don't get Nascar, they'll probably never understand that one)

I did watch the Indianapolis 500 for the first time since George kicked CART out of the race. Mostly to cheer on Danica.

To those of you on that side of the pond, just understand that us Yanks will pretty much race anything that moves.

We know what that's like. We've got Finns.

Hey Danica did good all things considered.

I am honestly amazed that more women aren't in the sport, but hey that's just me.

Open wheel racers, (Indy and Cart) well their races don't do that much for me but I am absolutely fascinated by their cars.

As for Scott Riggs, I was hoping for Biffle even though he's out of the points race.

I would love to see what Kvapil could do with a good car and crew. I have the feeling that if he survives this season he'll be one to watch.
