Today dawned bright and hot this morning. My wife and I were up early and ready to leave. We had an apointment. I had managed to get some time at the Sherriffs Department's range. I wasn't going to miss this. We loaded the car and off we went.
I cranked off over 100 rounds at their Handgun Range. (My wife popped off at least that many.) Then I moved to the Rifle Range. I pulled out my Long Rifle and started shooting it for the first time since moving down here. (Yes I can shoot it in the indoor range I use but why? That range is a total of 150 feet long.) I shot the 100, 200 and 300 yard targets.
It took me several rounds until I settled into my cannon again. Then I started hitting what I wanted. (Once I got into it again I started shooting against one of the other guys there. He's what they call a Marksman and I was holding my own against him.)
On our way home my wife and I stopped off at the local store and picked up a couple things before hitting the house. We got home just before the storm that had been threatening hit. (Talk about a storm. The Thunder was loud and often enough it knocked a couple things off the shelves.)
At 1600 I fired up the smoker and at 2030 we sat down to eat. Oh man it was well worth the wait.
