I've been embroidering for 12 hours (!) straight. Mum's tablecloth is ALMOST done - but I've run out of yarn.
I'll have to run to the shop first thing in the morning, and work like crazy before I go to mum - tomorrow is her birthday!

damn i hate hate hate when that happens.
please take a picture? i would love to see what you did. ill bet its gorgeous stuff!
good luck!

What she said, we want to see it.......NOW!!

OMG she'll love it, no matter...

That long really? wow dedication!! I'd be blind :p

And i wanna see it too lol :)

Unbefuckinglievable.

I went to the yarn store, and I couldn't find exactly the right nuance, so I asked for help. The nice, sweet women called the manufacturer, got the right number for DMC-yarn, and they even opened up a package to compare so that it would be the right color - and then it turns out that the manufacturer had put the wrong yarn in my original bag!

There's only a vague difference in nuance, and mum doesn't see very well, so I doubt she'll notice. But it's still a little left, and it's almost time to go. I'm waiting for my ride.

I'll just have to give it to her as it is, and explain that I'll finish it over the weekend. It's the thought, blah, blah, blah... I'm disappointed.

There can be such beauty in imperfection, Flicka. Your mom will love the work more than the colours. I'm proud of you still.

love, Perdita

That's such a shame, Svenska, but it is testimony to the love and dedication you've put into this for your Mum. She is a lucky lady.

Lou :rose:

babe
my grandma passed this tid bit to me...
never make anything without a bit of imperfection, the slight bobbles carry good luck and much love.

every sweater i knit... every stained glass panel i make...i am always sure to make a mistake and fill it with love.

itll be wonderful

I've heard something like that before, vella. Religious quilters always make one block wrong, because "only God can make perfect things".

Damned, I was so close to becoming divine! :D
