I got home today from a 12 hour shift. It wasn't easy, I tweaked my knee early in the morning. My leg hurts. I get home and after changing limp over to my recliner.

I sit in my char and soon find myself surrounded by several kitties.

Mamma Critter hops onto the chair and curls up beside me. Scrapper and Squeek climb onto the back of the chair and start their normal chatter.

Magi th lawless one. The one who delights in attacking ankles runs up in front of me and expresses his opinion in a very vocal manner before hopping into my lap.(Not something he does often.) Before I know it he's stretched out and kneading my knee without claws.

Yep I was surrounded by cats and relaxing.

Now if I could only teach them to get me a beer or a cigar life would be heaven.

You've got nice kitties! There they are, emitting zeta waves, helping you to feel better.

There's something wonderfully therapeutic about a cat's purr.

People don't think cats know (not like dogs, they'll say), but I'm convinced they do. Whenever I'm sick, my cat's there, fretting over me. I half expect her to put her paw on my forehead and take my temperature.

Good kitties.

Somewhere I have a pic of my youngest son asleep, sick, in my bed, with my Burmese asleep curled up with him. Normally she steers clear of him. She's skittish and he's noisy.

Bet the knee feels better too, Cats.

They damn what they do not understand. Quintilian

True. I don't understand why they always launch themselves at me, showing their teeth and with their claws out. I find it frightening, and because of that I damn them.

They do that because they know you're scared and they think it's funny. :D Cats aren't evil, they just have an evil sense of humor.;)

Okay tonight I feel like shit.

Yesterday one of my R.N.'s couldn't deal with the Aroma Therapy caused by a patient with a lower G.I. Bleed. (No it didn't smell good.) She dosed the room the smell was coming from with a room deoderiser, while I was in there.

This caused my sinuses to go absolutely insane and today I'm paying for it. My sinuses drained into my throat which caused a smallish infection, which has me running a low grade fever as well as coughing a lot. (Causing pain in my chest.)

The herd has seemingly sensed this. I can't move without a cat being near me. I can't sit down without at least one cat curling up either beside me or on my lap.

Hmm. Running a low grade fever. Warmer than usual. Cats are using you as a space heater. :cathappy:

What a sweetheart. :)

And a total female, she will bite and pull your hair for attention when she wants it. Although sometimes I think she thinks she's a dog. Will meow to go in and out of the house.

What a lovely lady.

My kitty has been very protective since I've gotten home from Chicago.

What a sweet cat. I love the look on his face. "Aren't I cool?"

He is, isn't he? Here's another shot. This is Jonesey.

He thinks we're married. :)

That's one of the things I like about cats. They never do anything by halves. You can see exactly how relaxed he is in that photo. :)

I adore him. He sleeps on my pillow.

Still there are some who will say that cats are not affectionate.

Cats are not dogs.

People who expect that will be disappointed.

Right now I have a different cat in my lap along with my laptop (not much room). All of our cats are lapsitters and snugglers.

:)

I think that's why cats get the bad knock on affection ... because they aren't dogs. They don't run to the door and jump up to greet you when you walk in the door and they don't seem disappointed when you leave. Cats are loaded with affection, but they want it on their own terms.
