The Brits, who did not win the road cycle race, say the Aussies, who also did not win the race, were hampering them by 'riding negatively'.
Wtf does that mean anyway? Were the Aussies going backwards? Holding onto the bikes of the British team?

They see me rollin
They hatin
Patrolling they tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Yeah. Had to.

It wasn't just the Australians.

Because Team GB was the favourite to win, almost every other nation went out of their way to make sure that they didn't.

It would have happened to whichever team was favourite. That is the nature of cycle road racing. It is also a feature of the Olympics. Whoever is the best in the world at the start of the Olympics is the one to match and beat if you can.

Team GB expected it, and had tactics to deal with it. The tactics nearly worked, but a few mistakes by Team GB blew it.
