Health canada is in total crap.

seems they didn't want to pay Bayers high price Cipro for an anthrax defense.

so they hire it out to a generic company.

aparently they broke a tomn of patent laws and now they can't use the pills or bayer won't give them any and they have waste all that tax money and even after the free cipro they were given they still have to pay for the rest.

oh damn those liberals are getting thier shit hitting the fans from the Conservatives and the alliance now..

woohoo fianlly something exciting, teehee

Why the hell doesn't someone name the other drugs that can be used for anthrax. Cipro is preferred but there are others that are effective. Don't ask me to name it, my mother rattled it off as she handed me my bottle.

Waht other drugs are effective?

It would be easier to say the enitre anitbiotic family. the entire penecilian/antibiotic family.

but Cipro is the one that makes the most money for the pharama cartel who inturn supports the democrats in the states and the liberals in canada

well that's very funny Todd ...

because i heard on the news the other day that the Ontario government just fired three of its top scientists ...

because it would save taxpayers thousands of dollars ... excuse me????

how idiotic is this? at a time of crisis ... of possible bio terrorism they are letting the province's best scientific minds go????

i realize this was probably a plan put together before the crisis ... but pleeeeeeeease people .... put the lay-offs on hold ...

oh man that is scary ... the Harris government defended the move by saying that technicians could easily do the routine work ...

but the news report went on to say that if Anthrax tests had to be conducted, they would now have to be sent out of province to Winnipeg or even to the U.S. for results ... and that could hinder the all important time factor ...

fucked up or what? ahhhhhhhh only in Canada ....

see Isabella we have things for me to complain about in canada too.

just not nearly as many as the states do on a daily basis

They fired 3 scientist who were not producing or doing anything...
but what has not been reported was the the governemnt hired two specialists in biological toxicology testing... Kinds like clearing out the dead wood..

As for the Cipro thing....Yup looks like they fucked up bad.

Red Rose ... Sold Only in Canada

.... Pity ....

well Pheonyx ... i like your answer ... i'll accept that answer and i will sleep better tonight ... thank you baby ... <kiss>

what? i never said we didn't have anything to complain about in Canada, Todd dear????

what i said was that we can't complain about the tea here ... the Cipro yes ... but not the tea ... we have good tea ... lol ...

I just heard on a radio program here about what s the real issue is behind the cipro debacle...

The canadian government went ahead and bought a whole bunch of generic tablet from a canadian firm and bayer is pissed. Not pissed cause the government bought them but pissed cause they did not get a chance at fullfilling the contract.

Turns out the Canadian government has the right under law to do exactly what it did in times of need. In an emergency the government can break patent law to buy the medicine. It is called the law of neccecity. Say you friend got shot and the only phone to get help is inside a store and the store is closed, if you break a window and make a call you get help (and do not touch anything else,) you cannot be charged with break and enter. Yes you have to pay for damaging the window but thats it. the Canadian government is in a similar situation..

The debate here is was there an emergency? Bayer is saying it could have filled the whole order for Canada. The canadoian government is saying it tried to place an order days ago but was told there was not enough.. Who is lying???
