Og's Quiz

I'm not giving away any answers yet. The next part of the quiz will stump many Brits:

3 Kits Coty - Remains of a neolithic long Barrow near Aylesford Kent

4 Hampton Court - Richmond on Thames Surrey now Gtr London circa 1515

5 Harewood House - mid 18th century between Harrrogate and Leeds Yorkshire. Good place to spot Red Kites.

6 Hatfield House - Hertfordshire present house built in about 1610 but previous palace on site the home of Elizabeth 1st as a child.

7 Eltham Palace - south east London Art Deco bult by the Courtauld family about 1930

But that hasn't answered all the questions about what county/city when they were built (and more than one that you have answered - are wrong. Sorry.)

Og, your question seems to have confused were with where. :)

I've just returned from giving my quiz to the pensioners' group.

The results were woeful. Out of a possible 50 points, one team scored five and a half.

The winners reached a massive twenty-five and a half, just over 50%.

But they enjoyed themselves and had a good laugh about their incompetence.

They want me to do another quiz later in the year so I must have got something right.

I didn't need to know WHEN they were built but in which administrative unit they were when they were built. One is a trick question:

No.3 Kit's Coty House is neolithic. At that time there were no administrative units, or if there were, we don't know what they were. The answer is NONE, but I gave half a point for Kent because I was getting desperate for some right answers.

4 Is Joseph

6 is Ephesians.

7 is Caiaphas though his father in law Annas probably told him what to do.

A pedant might say 5 was sea of reeds depending on translation.

Don't know 10

So did some of my pensioners' teams. They scored highest on this last round - not difficult since their average on the previous rounds was 2.5 out of 10.

Depends on translation: Jeremiah 46.9 "Drive furiously, Oh Horsemen!"
