Ogg the Great

Ogg is about (if not at this moment) to hit 1000 posts and I am excited about the promising tagline so am posting this thread.

That's all. Plus I like the man and his use of English including his Worst Chain Story, not to mention his cake, his humour, his depthless knowledge of useless trivia, his gentlemanliness and most of all his generosity of spirit.

sincerely, Perdita :rose:

I just hope Ogg can edit it down to fit in that little box at the side of his post. :(

LOL, Quas. I hope he knows there's a 25 character limit, including spaces. Well, I suppose we should be greatful. ;)

ah man I was all set to read the next great novel to.;)

Thanks

Thank you all for those kind words.

My first ever tagline is from Horace's Ars Poetica, describing a bore.

Og

Ogg, perfect: Latin and Horace. Off hand, I cannot recall you ever boring me, but I appreciate your insistence on it.

I am glad you took my words kindly, but they were also sincere.

Aclamaciones, buen rey.

"Boring" is the recurring theme in such feedback as I get on my stories. I try not to be too boring in my posts even if they include trifles that others might not have come across.

Salutations to an admired Perdita.

Og

Before your time, too, Perdita, but after mine.

Horace = Quintus Horatius Flaccus who lived (backwards) from 65BC to 8BC.

"Horace's poems, taught with great thoroughness in every school, formed during the 17th and 18th centuries an essential element in the pattern of English culture." according to The Oxford Companion to English Literature.

I've always adminred pepole who can do stuff like that. Live backwards, that is.

Well, congratulations to your taglineworthyness. I have a looong way to go.

What if Iceman uses Pop's AV and claims to be part of his parrot?

Congratulations, Og.

Rumply! I'm Pop's bird, everybody knows that.

Squawkingly, Perdita*

* not a bird-brain though.

And a brilliant, colorful bird at that...

Fool, I sing too.

L'amour est un oiseau rebelle, que nul ne peut apprivoiser...

waiting for Escamillo,

Congratulations, Royal Sir.

Anyone who reads all the way through a story then takes the time to tell you it is boring is a self-describing (oxy)moron.

Refer them to some less articulate author - like Melville.

Moby Dick, or The Book of Numbers, can't decide which is better for my insomnia.

I think you're being stalked, Icing. Someone is trying to get a rise out of you. I'd be hard put to resist, if it were me.

Dang, ran out of metaphors.
