But as such are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and are not citizens. Here are the words of the two authors of the 14th Amendment:

Senator Jacob Howard in 1866 spelled out the true intent of the Amendment's meaning:

"Every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States. This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons. It settles the great question of citizenship and removes all doubt as to what persons are or are not citizens of the United States. This has long been a great desideratum in the jurisprudence and legislation of this country."

Then Senator Edward Cowan stated:

"[A foreigner in the United States] has a right to the protection of the laws; but he is not a citizen in the ordinary acceptance of the word..."

You can bet these words will be before the SCOTUS as this case goes forth.

Will they now? Seems there is a Jackson woman that doesn't know she is a woman that could have issues with this. Sotomayor should recuse but will descent just to descent much like you. But if they tear anything like Pelosi did it will be time to see them go.

I suspect that Trump would consider that his objective has already been partially achieved.The fear factor may encourage a very small number of illegal migrants to leave - but what happens when Latin American countries in particular, refuse entry to their US born children?

While it seems more likely than not that he will lose in the Supreme Court that will take time, perhaps 2/3 years. Meanwhile he has thrown his MAGA supporters a bone and whatever the outcome his message will be - "See what these Liberal Lawyers are doing to stop us" And at the same time he will use his position to support the financial requirements of the Billionaires club and ignore the MAGA diehards. This is not just a legal issue but a political cow which Trump will milk until and even after a final verdict is handed down.

Then there are local agendas. Imagine for a moment what the response will be when the US born children of illegal migrants try to register to vote. Will they be put in a 'pending' pile, not to be decided until after the Supreme Court determines their status? It's going to be ugly and Trump's grievance inclinations will feed on that.

Haha. Explain that to the parents attempting to bring them in. As for voting issues the issue will be resolved by then and another president will be challenging this ruling.
It was an executive order to impose constitutional law. Not a blanket pre and future pardon.
