What do you give/get at your workplace as gifts?

We've received cookies, candy, chocolate, popcorn, calendars and tote bags.

We gave out cookies, candles (red, white & blue this year, last year they were GO VOLS orange), mini-coolers filled with candy & drinks, calendars and pens.

We did a secret santa and capped the gift prices at 10 bucks, mainly cause we have alot of high school kids working at the store.

I got a set of two pens. Blue ink, which I prefer. The metal casing is purple and silver :D And best of all the clips have little silver and bead Angels on them. :D:D:D

I gave my secret santa a stack of Manga. Too easy. :D

We're doing a grab bag too for the christmas party Saturday(Adults only whoo hoo!). I haven't bought anything yet :D

Our office has decided instead of doing our normal gift exchange, we have adopted a need of help family instead.
Donating everything from clothes, food, and new toys for the children....and some of us have put a little money aside for them as well.

With my few close friends in the office we still buy each other a little something. I collect candles. Most of my friends love to tradtionally get a new candle from me every year. I have thought about buying a few Christmas ornaments as gifts for them as well.

What's Manga?

We're having our secret santa swap on Friday and I haven't bought anything for her yet. I also have to make fried chicken drummetts and chocolate pie.

adult grab-bag? You should get a bunch of those penis pencil erasers. heh

This year I just got some extra cash.

Last year I got a black T-shirt with the text. "I'm not paid enough to be nice to you"

I love that T-shirt!

Ugh. I hate colleague gifts. I give things like soaps and picture frames to the girls in my agent's office, and sometimes homemade cookies. I swear I spend more buying this little crap than I do on presents for my kids.

I gave a piece of my art, because I knew that my secret santa would like it (so much that he's getting it tattooed onto his leg), and I got a nice bottle of red wine.

The company gave a couple gift certificates totaling well over $100 to each employee. Very generous, I think.

As a group, the office collected toys for an agency for the poor in the area.

We did secret Santa for those who wanted to particpate.

As for gifts for employees from me, I stopped doing individual gifts two years ago when the group finally got so big that the cost was too high. Now I do one large gift to a charity in the name of the group of people who work for me. And rather than buy me "suck up" gifts, they did a contribution to charity in my name, too. It worked out very well. This year my contribution was to the September 11th fund.

A gift that I have found to be well appreciated is "dinner and a movie" for your recipient. A gift certificate of movie bucks and one for the nearest fave restaurant and you are set. (Of course, the fave theatre here is 3.50 to get in and the restaurant is Gringos. For 15$ you have them covered--these are cheap enough that with a single parent and a kid, they don't have to pay a dime.)

I give whatever is appropriate for the person whose name I draw. We get a wonderful Christmas bonus and get it at Thanksgiving so we can have it to buy our family's Christmas presents and so forth. At the office party, which is one big partaaaaaaaa everything is furnished of course and the senior partners give us whatever we have hinted for...LOL!
