Shelby Harris was the newest addition to her office. In a sea of khaki and button downs, she dressed in her personal uniform of pencil skirts and pretty silk blouses. Today, she wore her black skirt, with a red silk blouse and her pretty new red shoes. She enjoyed making sure she looked nice. Her toenails and fingernails were painted cherry red. She knew she wasn't a femme fatale or pin up model. But she was a cute girl and she liked to wear nice things to work because it made her feel more confident and more put together.
She didn't want to be one of the women in the office that dragged in with their maxi skirt and sparkly flip flops hoping to get passed the dress code rules.
And as much as she would deny it, she enjoyed the compliments and the little bit of flirting she got from the guys in the office.
Matt seemed to always notice what she wore and even though she always rebuffed his flirtations. She loved seeing him eye her up and down. But one of her personal rules was that she didn't date at work. It didn't matter that she sometimes thought about what his scruffy beard would feel like against her skin. And it didn't matter that she loved it when he rolled up his sleeves and showed off his nice arms. It didn't matter because she didn't play at work.
However, when she walked into her office, she smoothed her skirt. She had her long hair pinned up. She knew Matt would be coming by with his morning coffee pretty soon.
