I've been working at my current job for about four months and the office drama is out of this world. So far, I've heard that our accountant yells at unsuspecting underlings, not to mention pushes them out of her way instead of asking them to move. There are rumors running rampant about how much certain people make per year even though they do nothing at all. I've had my boss rant for hours on end about a few underlings that give her attitude every time she asks them to do a job for her when they're obviously just sitting on their ass surfing the net.

This might be typical stuff to most of you, but I'm not use to working in an office and just find most of this stuff over the top. Titus Andronicus over the top.

I just want to hear from people who are use to office drama, or even people who don't work in an office at all.

What's the most ridiculous thing you've heard or witnessed at work?

Wow. I guess all I can advise is that you stay under the radar and don't piss anyone off lest you end up being the victim of office rumors. :)

I'm surprised rumors haven't been spread about me. There must be some unwritten rule that they're not suppose to talk about the new person for six months or something. Or maybe they're just all busy talking over the big controversy over a head honcho plagiarizing his dissertation. Gotta love it when there are big rumors to keep everyone occupied and away from your good name!

Also, a good bit of advice is, if you're new, find the biggest and baddest person in the office and proceed to fuck them up in full view of everyone. That way, no one will mess with you. I could be thinking that those are rules more fit for prison, but isn't work kind of like prison? ;)
