This is one of those stories that makes me sincerely wish I had thought of it. Just wonderfully silly and creative.

However, in the interest of revisionist history, the plagues hit Thebes after Oedipus and Jocasta's kids reach adulthood which would indicate to me that maybe Jocasta's screwing of the grandsons was the final straw. If you're going to offend the gods, don't go halfway.
