So Literotica is having an "Ode to Mickey Spillane" story "event" which you can read all about here.

This is an interesting idea. Mixing sex, death, mystery, and violence. Fun for the whole family!

I've always loved noir, both in books and in the movies. What kind of story ideas can we come up with?

I would have preferred some erotic glosses put on, say, Agatha Christie or Conan-Doyle stuff. "Orgy on the Orient Express" and "The Hunk of the Baskervilles" come to mind. The major problem would lie in not having things degenerate into a farce-cum-parody from the viewpoint of those who have read the originals. Can't quite imagine Poirot or Holmes as rutting studs who solve crimes but I'm sure the right author will eventually appear.

I was never a big Spillane fan. I also had a Maltese Falcon inspiration sruck in my brain. Please remove it.

Wikipedia reminded me that he appeared in a series of Miller Lite commercials. IIRC, the theme was that even tough guys could drink Lite beer. Sure. Not sure if that could be worked inro a story- maybe Mickey and a beer babe appearing with him in a commercial?

Ok, free idea to anyone who wants it, because between work and life and the other stories I’m trying to write, I’m not going to have time to do this challenge:

An investigative journalist reluctantly accepts an assignment to look into the intimidation of undocumented abattoir workers who are trying to unionize in the small town where the journalist grew up. Their uncle is the corrupt sheriff of the town.

The journalist meets a union organizer with evidence that the uncle is not only helping the slaughterhouse owners intimidate and disappear workers, but is also involved in a human trafficking ring. With more and more young migrant women starting to disappear, the journalist and the organizer work to expose the corrupt, dangerous elites and law enforcement thugs, while they get closer to each other…

This could work in multiple categories depending on how someone wants to tease it out. I imagined the journalist as a man in his early 30s and the organizer as a younger transwoman, but either character could be anyone, really.
