Odd one out.

Another one of my ideas....lets see.

Gavin was an average guy, 20 years old, quite intelligent, reasonably athletic and witty, there werent many he couldnt make laugh. However something troubled him, each night when he went to bed the same feelings washed over him. He felt incredibly lonely. For no matter how charming and polite he tried to be, or how much cash he didnt mind spending on his friends he just wasnt popular with the girls.....at least not in the sense he wanted.

He was friends with a number of girls however, indeed his best friend was a very attractive young woman who he had once tried to date.
Any attempt he made to meet someone simply earned him another female friend who thought of him as a friendly brother rather than a boyfriend. His friends, male and female all had partners and he was the last single person in his group of friends and also the only virgin and the 'couple, couple, Gav, couple' nights out were starting to get to him.
His friends have begun to notice a change in him, he seems withdrawn and quieter and for Gav that is very strange, so they decide to try and help him, after all noone likes to be the Odd one out.

I got home from work and headed for the shower. I was getting ready for an engagement party. Two of my friends had finally decided to tie the knot and were throwing a small party for their friends without the full family affair i had just 30min to get ready and into town to the restaurant we were meeting at.

Katie

Katie is 5'6" her blonde hair hangs midback, when brushed her hair is the same length all the way around her head. She has a full round face. She can smile and make you smile back. Her blue eyes are as lite as the sky above. She has very light tan skin. Katie usually pulls her hair back and wears a ponytail. She has pixie ears and her ears are pierced with diamond studs. Katie is medium boned and very free spirited. Katie has small but full breasts (34D)- 28 - 30 and a rose shaped backside.

I was pretty surprised when Troy and Cindie were planning to get married and I was thrilled for her. I was her best friend since third grade and very shy.

Cindie was telling me about this friend of Troy's named Gavin. He sounded really cute and nice from her description.

"Oh come on, do you want to be a wall flower forever, Katie?"

" I think I am well experienced in that role." I was teasing but her frown was getting bigger. "Okay I am sorry... I was really out of line. Okay I will meet this Gavin and if.. I REALLY MEAN IF.. he is okay, then maybe.."

I was dressed casual for the get together at the restaurant. I had thirty minutes to meet up with Cindie. So why was I shaking like a leaf.

OOC: hope nobody minds me jumping in as troy and hopefully, somebody will be willing to take on the part of cindie.

TROY AUSTEN: 25 years old, 6'1" and 195 lbs, well built but not muscular, in good shape and health. dark brown hair, dark brown eyes. troy has always been the life of the party and always got what he wanted simply because he would always be willing to go out of his way to get it. now he had a job in a top advertising firm and was going to get married to the girl of his dreams, cindie. although he's only known her for a year, he was absolutely certain when he asked to marry her three months ago.

i walked through the door of my apartament and put my briefcase down, knowing i had to get ready for this party. i stopped myself for a second though, and just stood there. i looked over my apartament and so many thoughts rushed into my head. soon, i wouldn't be living here anymore. cindie and i would be moving in together, into a house, and it'll all be so different... but it'll all be good, i was sure of that.

i smiled and started to undress as i headed for the bathroom. hopping in the shower, i was trying to hurry, as there was only half an hour left before the party...

Cindie

24 years old, 5'4", Wavy auburn hair, emrald eyes, light skin, of Irish decent. 34C, 24, 36. She can be very stubborn, a bit of a procrastinator, very spontaneous & upbeat.

I smiled at myself in the mirror as I finished applying my lipstick, I was rather pleased with myself today. I had talked my oldest, dearest and shiest friend into meeting Gavin at my engagement party, which I was sure would work out splendidly. I had also managed to get a lot of packing done today as well, as usual, I was putting things off as long as I possibly could. I guess Troy was the exception though, I certainly hadn't held back with him in any way.

I admired the ring on my finger again, then glanced down at the watch on my wrist. Time to get going! At least I didn't live too far from the restaurant. I grabbed my purse and keys as I headed out the door.

It didn't take me long to walk to the restaurant, and it looked like I was the first one here. I checked with the wait staff to make sure everything was on schedule, then took a seat to wait for everyone else.

hopping out of the shower, i quickly got dressed, and was ready in no time. i had never been late to anything with cindie, and i wasn't about to start now. i rushed out of the house, and not living far from cindie's house and the restaurant, i was there within ten minutes.

seeing nobody waiting outside, i walked in and talked to the hostess. she told me only one person had arrived so far, so i was hoping it was cindie. and as i approached the table, i realized that it was. i snuck up behind her as she looked over the menu, and covered her eyes with my hands, jokingly, and whispered "guess who" into her ear.

I had just picked up a menu to browse it's contents when I was startled by a pair of hands covering my eyes.

"Guess who," whispered a voice next to my ear. I smiled, instantly recognizing Troy’s voice.

“Could it possibly be the love of my life?” I reached up and pulled his hands from my eyes as he stepped around to my left side. “It is!” I exclimed, jumping to my feet and wrapping my arms around him. He chuckled softly at my display, circling his arms around me to pull me closer.

“I’ve missed you,” I said with a grin. “And how was your day sweetie?”

wrapping my arms around cindie, i pulled her close to me.

"my had has been okay... but now that i get to spend the rest of it with you, everything is perfect." i smiled and she couldn't help but smile an even bigger smile than mine... leaning in, i kissed her gently on the cheek. "ahh, i've missed you so much... are we the only two people here? guess you can't trust people to be on time anymore..."

I left the house earlier than expected and decided to walk the short distance to the resturant from my house.
I arrived earlier than i thought yet Troy and Cindie were already inside. It seemed Troy too had just arrived so i walked up behind them. Allowing them the courtesy of some private 'hello' time between them before i walked up and said Hi.

spotting gavin in the distance, i turned away from cindie to greet him. extending my hand to shake his, i smiled.

"well, guess i'm wrong... you're on time, at least."

as cindie took a seat, i sat down next to her, still talking to gavin as i looekd at him. "cindie has been talking and talking about this katie girl forever now... so are you excited to meet her, or what?"

I stepped from the cab. Quickly paying for my ride.

I walked into the place and glanced around. Seeing Cindie and Troy made me smile. They are really a cool couple, but I see a young man with them and started to flush a little.

Cindie spotted me and waved me to the table. No way out now, I smiled and sat at the table.

Cindie started with the introductoins, "Katie, this is Gavin, Gav meet my friend, Katie"

I looked him straight in the eye and took a big gulp. God I hope that I don't start sweating buckets, I thought. I was immediately taken in by his eyes.

Before gavin had a chance to answer Troy's question, I spot Katie by the door. I smiled brightly and waved to her. She was all ready blushing a little as she took a seat at the table. I gave her a quick hug, then got the ball rolling.

"Katie, this is Gavin, Gav meet my friend, Katie." I knew they would get along wonderfully, as soon as Katie relaxed a little bit. She was really a great girl, and I was always trying to draw her out of her shell so everyone else could see how great she was. I slipped my hand into Troy's as I waited for one of the two to say something.

I smiled at Gav and realized that he might be like me, very shy.

"It's nice to meet you Gav." I smiled at him and looked over his face.

"So what kind of stuff do you do? College or business?" Trying to think of something to break the ice with and losing terribly.
