OCC Luna Lupa: Werewolf: T.A.

The NPC's

This story will take place centering around a Carnival called the "Luna Lupa" owned and run by Rana Callstohunt, a human Ragabash Silent Strider. She is the unmated Alpha female.

She is backed up by Cookie, a human Ahroun Silver Fang. She may look very nice and sweet, back there in the cooking tent with her cap of silver curls, but she's never lost in battle.

HidesinLighting is a Metis Glasswalker Philodox albino who lives in his tricked out trailer. He's a whiz at keeping an eye on local police and building new ID's for the cubs and other fugitives who come thu the Luna Lupa.

Moveslikerain and Runslikewind are brother and sister Red Talons, tall and black haired and black eyed when in human form they don't say anything in two words they can say in one, in human or lupine form they prowl the the fairgrounds.

Clix is the human Bone Gnawer Gallarid. He'll crack a joke, spit a wad of tabbacy juice and work on anything mechancal.

Game Start
If everyone will PM me this weekend what they want to play I'll begin the main story line.

To warm up:

The vice president of EnviroData came home to the comfort of his suite. As always the opulent decadence of his suite comforted and warmed him. It was a symbol of his success that he had these things, and a sign of power among those he dealt with, of mastery.

However, after he had set down his keys and briefcase on the oak sideboard in the entryway but before he could turn on the lights the lamp at his desk flicked on and revealed an unwanted and unwelcome guest.

"About time you showed up." the lean dark haired woman said to him simply as she sat on his desk.

"What are you doing here, Rana, and how did you get in." He asked, his thin lips compressing into invisibility as he walked angrily to the desk.

"Now is that anyway to talk to someone who not only saved your life," Her fingernail flicked one of the crystals hanging from the Tiffany lamp on his desk. "But your lifestyle as well, and all that data crap?" She hopped off his desk and stood easily and grinned at him. "And as for how I got in, well, you should know that, if nothing else."

"I see." He bit off the words tersely. "And now it’s payback time?"

"It’s...proposal time." Rana tilted her head, her green eyes glowing with mischief and excitement and her grin would of affected anyone else to return it. "I want something, and you Glass Walkers are able to help me get what I want. But, I know how you all are, so..." She gestured about the room. "Into the world of men that you worry about property and propriety. I saved your life, and you at least owe me the half hour it would take for you to listen."

"All right." He straightened his tie and his composure, somewhat relieved that he wasn’t getting blackmailed, but unsure of what the Strider really wanted. She was a fey one, Calls-to-Hunt, and while no one had ever said she was untrustworthy, the word was that her own agenda was the only one she followed.

"I require quite a lot of money, in a short amount of time for a venture I think will benefit a great many people." She began as she toured the room, looking at his art work.

"Yourself included, I can only assume." He remarked bitterly.

"Of course! Don’t be silly. But, if it were only for myself, I wouldn’t do it. I am not selfish." She shot him a look of irritation. "Being a Glass Walker I know you wouldn't understand what it like for most of us outside. Especially us Striders. We can’t settle anywhere long before the road calls us, or a mission, or a hunt.

"And the cubs, how many are we missing? How many are lost to us? I have thought of a way to have a bit of permanent, be able to deliver messages and goods and people under the noses of those who watch, and more..." She crossed to the desk and perched on the edge, ignoring his wince.

"I want you and your sept to fund me to buy and run a traveling carnival." She said seriously.

"A what?" The disbelief and shock was obvious on his pasty face.

"Before you say no, I want you to consider a few things." She began ticking them off on her fingers. "Carnivals are basically their own traveling towns, have a high turnover of people as employees, have a cash only business, have access to throngs of people where ever they go...better to look for new cubs and foes..." She looked at him seriously. "I want to have children someday, but I can’t stay in one little house somewhere and wait to have them. I want to offer a refuse for cubs, metris, and child bearing women as well as further our goals. This truly can be a good thing."

As she talked his mind had been turning it over, resistant at first, but gradually seeing the possibilities emerging. "Truthfully," he said slowly, "At first I thought you were crazy, but...I find the idea has some merits. But I don’t think you have planned it all out carefully..." He raised a brow.

"Well, you’d be right. I had the idea and thought if it could hold water I could get someone to at least think about helping me, then do the planning." She shrugged. "If it didn’t, then why do all that extra work when there are other things to be doing."

"If I go to my sept with this, what would I say your primary goals would be with this venture?" He pulled a pen from his pocket and began to take notes.

"Primary goals? To...Have an established place, to gather and train cubs for testing, to...have a place to hide if that was needed, to...provide a meeting place..." She frowned a bit. "I don’t know exactly what your asking, but, I had a dream of what it could be. Help me make it happen."

Finally, showing a warmth she had never seen in any of his kind before, he smiled. "I will. Let’s make up a business plan and go from there, shall we?"

The story begins later, when the Luna Lupa is up and running and she is hireing people to work it.

David Wyce-Markham

Name: David Wyce-Markham
Age: 26
Race: Human Kinfolk
Tribe: Silver Fang

The Wyce-Markham's had always been a respected family, but the blood ran a bit thin for ten generations, and the local Silver Fangs gave up on them. However, the Mendellian crapshoot rolled seven the hardway one generation and Edward Wyce-Markham, David's elder brother, turned out to be every inch a Silver-Fang Theurge. Driven almost insane by the constant whisperings and spirits that nobody else could see and hemmed in by a world nobody could explain to him, Edward soon fell into the clutches of the local drug dealers and wine merchants.

One day, a drug deal went bad, and during the fracas Eddie underwent his first change. David was accompanying him at the time, and was the only person in the area not to suffer from the Delerium. They gathered as much money as they could, and Eddie went into hiding. That was 10 years ago.

With their Eldest son the subject of a national manhunt, the Wyce-Markhams simply wrote him off and focussed all their expectations on David - but David couldn't forget what he'd seen, and all the tension simply drove him away from home. Now he's on a quest to see what happened to his brother, and has traced him as far as the United States.

David has always had quick hands, and he picked up a number of tricks during his travels which he's used to keep himself in funds. He's an expert juggler, tumbler and skilled at all sleight of hand tricks. In addition he is excellent with knives, a skill which he's used for self-defence AND entertainment.

Lingo

Here's a great site for learning the Carny lingo: Shocked and Amazed

It also has some great ideas for jobs around the carny if your stuck. However, there will be no freak show. There will be a ten in one show with some acts five shows a day.....

Readers Digest version of the Lingo:

BACK END -Inside the big top at opposite end of tent from the front door or the 'connection' between the menagerie and the big top. The 'back end' of a carnival consists of the shows and riding devices. Concessions, no matter where located, are part of the 'front end.'

BALLY, BALLYHOO - A free show given outside a side show to attract a crowd (a 'tip') of potential patrons. Word came into being at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The fakirs, gun spinners and dancing girls from the Middle East spoke no English, only Arabic. The interpreters used the expression "Dehalla Hoon" to call performers outside to the show fronts. The Western ears of the talkers translated it as 'ballyhoo' and so used it when the interpreters were away for lunch.

BEEF - A complaint from a patron, a law officer or others concerning anything about the show.

BILL - (n) A piece of advertising paper. (v) The act of placing advertising paper on, or in selected locations in and around the town to be played by the show. The term can also be used in other ways, as in "drawing up a bill," meaning to gather together the acts for a show, or in the question, "How was he billed?" meaning "How was his act advertised?" and "Was he on the bill?" meaning, "Was he on the show?" The term is more often applied theatrically than it would be in sideshows.

BLOWOFF - Crowds leaving a big top after a performance. Extra pay, extra added attractions in back end of both circus and carnival side shows were also called blowoffs. Also blow off, blow-off or the blow.

BLOW DOWN - When one or more tents or riding devices is leveled to the ground by a wind storm.

BOSS CANVASMAN - Literally, what it says. He's the man in charge of making sure the canvas goes up properly and doesn't come down on the show short of a major blow down.

CARNIVAL - A cooperative business arrangement between independent showmen, ride owners and concessioners to present outdoor amusement for the public.

CARNY - Someone who works in a carnival. The term is also applied to the carnival itself. It's a term used by some in the business and disliked by others.

CHUMPS - See RUBE, MARK.

CONCESSIONAIRE - The game and food stand personnel; the people who operate the "joints." Because of that, they're also called "jointees," as opposed to the "showmen" who run the shows.

DONIKER - A rest room or toilet wherever it is.

DO-GOODERS - Individuals who believe in the innate evil of the amusement business, focusing generally on the notion that it exploits or demeans those who work in it. The do-gooders are generally despised by the by same supposedly exploited individuals: the carnival and circus workers. The common terminology today is "PC" or "politically correct."

FRONT - (show front, 200' front, talking the front, 'I got your money on the front,' etc.) Generally, the front of a show, though its meaning can change depending on usage. A 200' front pretty clearly means the show takes up 200' of the midway and 'I got your money on the front' obviously means the patron paid to get into the show. On the other hand, the front end consists of only the concessions in a carnival but, on a circus, consists of the midway including concessions and the sideshows. The term 'front' can also apply to how someone looks, as in 'putting up a front.'

GAFF - In the broadest sense, anything controlled or 'faked'. A gaffed game, for example, would be one where it would be nearly impossible for the patron to win unless the operator let him. In the case of freak animals (and human oddities as well on occasion), for example, a gaff wouldn't be a genuine freak of nature, regardless how convincing it looked, but a specimen manufactured to look freakish.

GIBTOWN - Gibsonton, Florida aka Showtown, USA, where carnival and circus people used to winterquarter in great numbers. Many still do.

GRAB JOINT - An eating concession (with circuses a hamburger stand). The customer is served directly over the counter from the griddle, juice bowl, etc. Circus grab joints had no seating of any kind for the townspeople. Only seating for them was in the big top. Some carnival grab joints do have seating all around stand.

GRIFT - The crooked games, short change artist, cloths line robbers, merchandise boosters, pickpockets and all other types of skullduggery carried by some of the "fireball shows." The term was used collectively to cover any and all such activities.

GRIND - In the spiel from a show front, the rhythmic verbal conclusion that's meant to move the patrons into the show. It differs from the opening bally, which is meant to get the attention of midway strollers and sell them on the show they'll see.

GRIND SHOW - A show or attraction that never has a "bally." Front men and ticket sellers just "grind away" all day. Most of the shows on carnival midways today are grind shows, the grind blaring over the midway from an audiotape loop and sound system.

GRIP - A wad of money.

HEAT - Problems, arguments or battles between the show, or its people, and town's people. Most heat was caused by illegal activities of a show, but not always by the show involved. A "burn em up" outfit in ahead of a real "Sunday Schooler" could and did leave a lot of heat for the latter

JACKPOTS - Trouper's stories of their former escapades, often exaggerated. 'Cuttin' up jackpots' is the expression given to swapping these stories.

LOT - The show grounds.

MARK - A carnival term for townspeople. Particularly, the ones who 'go up against the games.'

MIDWAY - In its broadest sense, the location where all the concessions, rides and shows are located in a circus, fair or carnival. Of course, a carnival is basically nothing but midway; in a circus, the midway is just that: the midway between the 'front door' to the circus lot itself and the 'big top' where the circus performers do their acts; and in a fair, the midway will probably be a combination of the carnival and the 'independent midway,' amusements booked in separate from the carnival by the fair committee itself.

NUT - The operating expenses of a show (daily, weekly or yearly). The story is that the word came into usage after a creditor came onto a circus grounds and took the nuts off the wagon wheels. "I will keep them until I get my money," he announced. He was paid. The nuts went back on the wheels and the show moved that night. "So a show always sought to 'make the nut' and start making money above its expenses. A show that hadn't yet 'made the nut' was said to be 'on the nut' and one that had was said to be 'off the nut'

PITCH - Selling merchandise by lecturing and demonstrating.

PLATFORM - The raised staging where acts perform. It can refer to those inside the show or the bally platform on the front of the show.

ROUSTABOUTS - Circus working men on the lot, particularly the big top crew. Some uninformed writers just love to use "razor back" for these hands. Razor backs were always train crewmen not canvasmen, which really is the proper term to use for big top men. Men in each department had designations from the job they performed. Dog boys, pony punks, property men, skinners, bull men, cage hands, front door men, lead bar detective, honey bucket man, coffee boy, pastry cook, etc., etc.

ROUTE - List of towns and events played each week, month or year.

RUBE - Hey Rube or a battle with the towners. Also, a not very affectionate term for the towner himself.

SHILL/SHILLABER - One who pretends to play a game, or to buy a ticket to an attraction, in order to entice others to join or follow him. Without a good "shill," and entire "tip" may stay perfectly still after an "opening." All with the cash in their hands, and not one of them will "break" for the ticket boxes, unless some brave soul leads the way. "Shills" fill the need for brave souls.

SIDESHOW - Essentially, any show that plays the midway, though the now more common application is to the freak shows or ten-inone shows. Technically, however, even a menagerie on the midway of a circus is a sideshow. Also 'side show'.

SIDEWALL - The canvas wall that hangs below a canvas 'top,' as in 'big top.' What most outside the business would call a 'tent' is, in reality, the canvas top with its sidewalls attached.

TAKEN IN ON THE FRONT - As in "How much [money] did we take in on the front?" as opposed to the money taken in on the assorted pitches inside the show.

TALKER - Never "barker." The man who makes the "outside openings" and "talks" in front of an attraction. If he talks inside the attraction, he is a "lecturer."

TAKE YOUR BEST HOLT - Do anything to get the money. Also "work strong."

TEAR DOWN - The tearing down of a show at the end of an engagement.

TEASER, TEASER CURTAIN - A low curtain that obscures the otherwise open view to the midway of the activities in a show. Only a few feet high, it's hung to allow the midway crowd to see the feet and heads of the audience and sometimes the performers in the show, the better to "tease" them to pay the admission to see what everyone is looking at.

TEN IN ONE - A carnival midway show with ten attractions inside. It is usually an "illusion" show or some other "string show." Can be either a "pit" or a "platform" show. Most of them worked on ground level though. "Also '10-in-1,' etc."

TIP - The crowd gathered in front of an attraction by the "ballyhoo." They listen to the talker, watch the free exhibition on the bally platform, and if the talker is convincing enough, they buy tickets and go in to see the promised show. When entire tip has been "turned" by a talker's "opening," it is said that he has "cleaned the midway."

TROUPER - A person who has spent at least one full season on some type traveling amusement organization. By then, they are usually hooked.

TRUCK SHOW - A show which travels by truck, the situation of most carnivals today.

TURN THE TIP - The would be patrons in front of a bally platform who have been convinced that the "talker" is truthful and his attraction must be seen are "turned" when they crowd up to the ticket boxes and purchase tickets.

WINTERQUARTERS - Location where a show stays during its off season, that is, the quarters in the winter. A show's (or circus' or carnival's) winterquarters need not be in a temperate climate zone, though a number of them are in the South.

NOTE: Kinfolk

While certain bloodlines of Garou do run thu kinfolk lines, Kinfolk don't have a "tribe" per say. Also, the chances of being Garou are one in 100, which is one of the reasons these are the End Times, there simply are fewer Garou being born than before, and more of our enemies being created.

Kenneth Robertson IV
Auspices:Ahroun
Human Get of Fenris
32

Ken was always the outcast in school. He got in so many fight and arguments that he was sent to military school and then went into the army. He became a very skilled marks men and his knowledge of explosive and other mean of death grew. When sent out on a mission he was trapped and tortured. Some time during the torture he felt a deep burning angry. Sometime later he found himself in a room with his clothes bloody and death ever where around him.

He got back to find his entire squad had been killed. Calling on his radio help was sent and he was later given a Purple Heart and a honorable discharge from the army. His mind still foggy from the incident sought out the knowledge of his family. Rummaging through his family things he came upon a journal dated some years back talking about were-wolves. Doing some research he came across a new carnival that caught his eye.

Some Mods to PC

Good start: Some mods

You need a reason why you would join the carny....
Like, your sept wants to send a warrior to aid in their mission and maybe keep an eye on them....
You've not found a sept yet, and want to join this one.....
You are technically a cub and haven't gone thu your rite of passage yet, and have been sent to us to be trained....

Please note: Cubs are all ages, it just means untested. Some cubs never take their Rite of Passage and die, Garou but voiceless and just about worthless in the eyes of other Garou.

Also, a Garou isn't often "lost", someone comes to guide them into the Garou life...however, I like the Journal idea, and can use it in story telling later, so keep it, but...maybe it's a journal of one of your long lost and never talked about relavtives...

How does that sound?

Also, what job would you want in the Carny?

Sounds like a cool idea and as for job was thinking along the lines of the shooting gallery.

This is a great idea, I see a lot of work put into this. I have to say, I am impressed with the whole thing.
I'd love to be a part of this, but first I have a few questions. I know this will be novice stuff, so I understand if they aren't as important.

1. I looked on the site, and it has a lot of information, but I didn't find much on the different strength's/weaknesses or advantages/disadvantages about being born human or lupine or metis (and maybe explain what a metis is a bit more). You have the tribes and the auspices put up very well, but this I didn't find enough to pinpoint what I want my character to be.

2. The Theurge auspice channel's nature's fury... and the Ahroun
are the true warriors of Gaia, and nothing will withstand their rage.
What exactly is the difference between the two?

3. What exactly is the corruption that is tearing Gaia apart? I can make a guess about overpopulation and the human rape of the world, but being as this'll only be one little circus travelling around, what exact corruption will we be dealing with, just a few generic examples so I can understand a bit more.

4. You mentioned the word Sept a few times, and I think I know what it is (werewolf clan or group) but I'd rather just ask plain out, what is a sept?

Just a few things I'm curious about. To be truthful, I don't think anything this complicated has come alone in a long time. I'm happy it did, and would love to be a part of it.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Ah yes, well, the way I see it, the Garou didn't have a lot of choice over what they got born as either (WEG) so you make your best choices, and then I PM you with your PC's speical skills and/or choices. However, I will make up a speical "Metis" section after I type up these other answers, as Metis shouldn't be chosen lightly.

2. The Theurge auspice channel's nature's fury... and the Ahroun
are the true warriors of Gaia, and nothing will withstand their rage.
What exactly is the difference between the two? A Theurge is more like a Shaman, working more closely with magic and spirits and Gaia herself than the other auspices. Ahrouns are raw Rage Power, more able to channel the gift of Rage than the others. However, yes, this does make Ahrouns more difficult to control, and they do tend to want to "eye for an eye" and "smite mightly" more than everyone else.

3. What exactly is the corruption that is tearing Gaia apart? I can make a guess about overpopulation and the human rape of the world, but being as this'll only be one little circus travelling around, what exact corruption will we be dealing with, just a few generic examples so I can understand a bit more. There are several things leading up to the corruption, but it basically comes down to the three forces: Gaia, The Wyld, and the Wyrm. Once, they were all in balance, each had it's place. Think of them as growth, chaos, and corrpution if you will. However, the Wyrm has gone mad, and instead of the healthy normal balance the Wyrm now seeks the destruction of itself to end it's pain. With this, of course, comes the destruction of everything else also. We cannot destroy the Wyrm, but we can try to keep it's influence to a fraction of what it would be unchecked. However, Garou as a race is dying out, and Human's have befouled themselves and the earth. It seems hopeless, but we fight on. Because of the Human influence the Wyld is also getting weaker, and agents of the Wyrm fund projects and fight laws which make this so.

4. You mentioned the word Sept a few times, and I think I know what it is (werewolf clan or group) but I'd rather just ask plain out, what is a sept? A Sept is a group of Garou, usually of many different Auspices and Clans, which work together. The Luna Lupa Sept is unique because it open accepts Metis and other outcasts, has no perm base, and has no Caeran. A Caeran is a magical place where the Gaia most directly can focus her gifts and are places of healing for the Garou. However, Caeran's can be lost, weakened, over taken....and one of the goals of the Luna Lupa is to find and recover lost Caerans.

One of the reasons I didn't dump this all at once is I wanted to give the information in bits unstead of a massive overload of just me yaking to myself :p. I was afraid that I'd lose possiable players if I made it too complex from the get go as it were.

So, what I have here is a young untried young female Alpha, hopefully a set of interesting NPC's to balance her, and a group of new players who will learn and grow with the Luna Lupa. I"m hopeing it will go well. I'm hoping you all will help me make it go well.

:)

What is Metis

As you know, Garou are not made, they are born.

If a Garou and a human or a wolf mate, they create a Kinfolk or another Garou. This is good.

However, it is in the Litney (see Luna Lupa Players Guide) that Garou shall not mate with Garou. If a child should result from that unholy union the result is a monster. Metis are always born deformed in some way. Albinos, or blind, or unable to shift properly if at all....The list of cruel horrors is nearly endless.

They are shunned by Humans for being ugly, by Lupines for not smelling right, and by Garou for being horrors. Many are killed by their own family before ever takeing their frist breath, or are hidden. If they live they are more likely to turn to the Wyrm than not, and if they become warriors for Gaia they never can really prove themselves in the eyes of other Werewolves.

Metis are always born sterile.

Rana believes however that every Garou has a purpose and is willing to put them to good use. She may not be friends with them, but if their goals serve her goals, she will accept them as easily as any other Human, Kinfolk or Garou who come to her.

The Litney

The Litney itself has been moved to Luna Lupa Players Guide

The Veil.

Basically:

The Veil is the Veil of Ignorance between the everyday world of humankind....and everything that isn't human.

We don't want them to know we really, truly here.
Vampries don't want them to know they are really, truly here.
Mages don't want them to know they are really, truly here either.
No one who knows the truth really want the "sheep" of the human race to know. There are a lot of them, and paniced..they could utterly destroy us...themselves....and everything else around us.

It's just best for everyone in a all around kind of way.

That certainly did explain everything. I can understand how you didn't want to go too much into everything. When I looked over the website, I saw things like the wyrm and such, and thought that was over my head as well, just wanted a simple explanation.

I'm still a little curious about human versus lupine (you more than well took care of metis). If you were born a wolf cub, wouldn't your mom freak out? Or before mating, is the possibility of a hairy offspring already discussed (wouldn't that violate this veil policy?) What if the gene runs down, like an aunt or great grandfather, something you mentioned earlier, and everyone thinks it's a normal pregnancy, and all of a sudden a little wolf cub pops out in front of the emergency room with doctors and nurses... that would definitely uncover the veil.
All of those little confusing things is why I wanted the birth to be explained a bit further.
I wanted to know this so I could find out about parents, and ancestory a bit as well. Did I have to make them central to my character's own growth, or could I seperate myself from them (make them completely human, and just a little fluke in the gene pool from a great great relative or something).
Can two wolves mate to make a garou? Again, the same gene fluke theory, there's shapeshifting in the ancestory, but it's been dormant for a while.
If you are born a wolf cub, do you then stay a wolf, and change into human when you get angry or excited, like the exact opposite of what a werewolf born human would do?

Just a few questions myself. I have stated before my desire to play a human, not a Werewolf, after reading all this great info I am concerned about my chances of doing battle with Werewolfs. Seems almost like I would need a tank to even stand a chance, can you enlighten me a bit about this concern.

Second, is it common for see a Werewolf fall in love with a human, or could a human persuade a werewolf to fight their own kind?

I am just trying to get a feel for the conflict between humans and Werewolfs, the conflict between man and Vampires is quite well known, just trying to learn a bit more between Werewolfs to better create a char. Thanks

Well Gee!

I just woke up and this is what I find? lol. Ok, I'll answer as many as I can before I jot off to work.

The unspoken question: I can't spell, I don't use a word processor, and I'm dyslextic. So I'm sorry if you stumble across the reversals, or 'e' left in where it shouldn't be. I hope you will bear with me.

Wolves are always born to wolves only. Humans are only born to humans. In both the Garou strain doesn't show until after maturity. Lupine Werewolves tend to live ten years longer than their lupine counterparts, but still have shorter lives than humans. However, being Garou isn't a long lived occupation, so....

Out of a litter of pups one may be Garou, and the others lupine. Rain and Runs are unusal in that they have the same lupine mother, tho diff litters. They are two years apart. Usually any mother of any type will only have one Garou in her lifetime.

I'll get into the shapeshifting in another thread, after work. ;) But basically, there is more than just the two shapes....there are inbetween shapes.

And yes, in the past someone in your family had to have been Garou. Lupine or human. It's in the blood, therefore somewhere in your bloodline someone had to be a little furry/a little unhaired (depending).

Roughneck, there was a time when humans were basically sheep and the Garou their keepers. But then came a bad time, a time of shame for the Garou where it was desided to put the humans down. A killing rampage ensued, which to this day causes a loatheing instintivly in most humans, and the Deiliruim in non-kinfolk if seen in certain stages of shape changing. While in the Deiliruim a human will say anything to themselves to convince themselves they DID NOT SEE WHAT THEY SAW. "Bigfoot." "I was drunk." "It was a big dog." Etc.

And yes, love can cause us all to do strange things.

And the Garou can be hurt, silver is not good for them, shotguns work, they sleep, and trust and can be tricked. They heal quickly, but some things can't be repaired, like a missing kneecap.

When you are ready post your PC, Roughneck, and then I will give a lot of info in your intro.

Eeeks, I have like ten mintues!

Actually, Garou can be kinda vulnerable without their Kinfolk.

Firstly, as PS said, they DO have to sleep. Secondly, none of them work very well with animals, as a rule. Thirdly, the Lupus ones are VERY naive when it comes to the workings of the modern world - few of them could interact socially with humankind in a subtle way or for an extended time. Fourthly - they can heal just about any wound up to and including severed limbs, provided it wasn't inflicted by a magical or silver weapon. My Kinsfolk character carries a .357 Revolver loaded with hotshot silvertips. One of those canl make a hole the size of a side plate in even the largest Garou Ahroun. Lastly and most importantly - without us, the Garou die at the current generation. Without us there ARE no Garou.

Of course it's nowhere near a fair fight - even with the silver - but the whole point is that the GAROU are the warriors. We Kinfolk are here to support them, and to catch them when they stumble. We can't do magic, we can't change shape - but there's a lot we can do. In Army parlance, we might not be the Infantry, but vehicles need fixing, intelligence needs gathering, food needs cooking, watch needs keeping and bills need paying.

All right. I think I have enough to send out a character.

Lenny.
Philodox
Children of Gaia.
Born human.

At this point in time, he's 24. A student at a local college, trying to become an attorny. He works, as an intern, for a few local city governments jobs, nothing big really... just getting papers in order, and seeing that no big permit frauds are being taken place.
(my idea was to send him over with the proper paperwork to fill out for their first "official" circus stop)
His ancestory is normal, so to speak. In the second world war, his great grandmother worked as one a nurse in one of the few military hospitals. She fell in love, but the affair was short.
When she returned to the states, she never told anyone, and soon found out she was pregnant. She thought it was from her husband, (or maybe just pretend for her own sake). Anyway, no one knows or even suspects anything, they are all completely human.
Lenny hasn't had many weird experiences. He was mostly a calm and cool person growing up (still is, thanks to his lineage). There was only one time, with a girl, it's always a girl, isn't it? He doesn't remember, but the police were called.
Not enough evidence, he has since tried to forget about it.
I think that's it. Anything else, I should be able to make up the answers, lol. Thanks.

Frist Change-Lenny & Ken

Lenny sounds good except for a few small points.

lol, from now I, fair warning, I'm just going to be looking mostly for gaps from what people post and then fill that in, OK? Or if questions are asked. I know I missed stuff in my over views, but....I'm only human.

The frist change is under extreme stress and usually danger, when the Garou sees no other way out and the rage he/she has been trying to cope with all their life brust out of them. Literally, they come out of their skins.

Unless the girl was somehow threatening Lenny's life to the point of utter dispair, that part of your story needs work.

Sometimes, if a Garou hasn't gone thu their change by a certain age and others are aware that he/she is the Sept leader may choose to force the frist change. Kenny doesn't seem to be aware of his lineage yet, and if not, his first change can be forced by the Luna Lupa Sept if that's what Gohan would like.

Rana's story is this: The vampires in her city discovered that she was Garou before she did, and purposely bit and changed her best friend into a vampire just to set a trap for her and kill her before she joined the ranks of the other Garou. However, the plan went off to soon, the young vamp didn't have back-up and Rana shifted and killed her friend.

Cookies story is this: As a young girl Cookie was engaged to be married to a fairly wealthy young man whose family insisted that she be checked by a doctor to ensure her virginity was intact. An avid horsewoman, tho she had never been with a man, the proof wasn't there. Humiliated and hurt her ex and his buddy's thought she must be a slut and cornered her in the wine cellar at her home. Only she exited.

Clix story is this: Always a street rat Clix loved to take things apart and put them back together again. He made a small but steady income with fixing old ladies toasters and keeping decades old cars running. The local drug dealers wanted him to work for them, which he refused he was happy bumbleing along, no ones dog. When they went to make an example of him, he turned the tables.

Kenny: Since it is stated in the profile you posted that he shifted in war time, he'd know that he was a Fenris due to racial memories. Would you like to change that to he hasn't shifted yet?

Lenny: Revise to a lift threatening sitch for his frist change, and also revise that he has contact with the nearst Sept, and is basically keeping an eye on the local legal process for themAnd the Luna Lupa needs to contact him as per the Litney re: entering another's turf.

I know I promsied to post about shape types tonight, but I am way sleepy, and will do so after work tomorrow.

HOMEWORK: What, in one short sentence, is your Garou's driving force?

Again, something I didn't know about. Good thing you told me though.
Ok, I like the idea of him not knowing anything, so I'll change it to where he hasn't gone through any changes.
I don't have a problem with the nearest sept knowing about him, and making it so that he goes to this circus to be selected. The papers could just as easily have been mailed, but someone made him go all the way out there.
I don't like that he would be a part of the sept. He could just be a helper, and not really understand what he's in there for. I want this whole lineage and truth to be a real surprise him. (to be honest, I don't think I could do much justice to let him have prior knowledge about septs and turf's and things.)

A short sentence? How about... to bring back the balance within Gaia.

First Change

It is a part of the Luna Lupa's mission, and Rana's personal goal, to guide as many cubs thru the transition from human to Garou as possiable. With so few Garou left it is felt by many elders that cubs are being lost just because no one is there to guide them.

RE: Gargon

Given that he is devious yet level headed I was thinking Silent Strider or Bone Gnawer Ragabash.....

Which would stack up like this:

Silent Striders
Once they dwelt in the fabled lands of Khem in Ancient Egypt, but no longer. Now they roam the Earth, following an insatiable wanderlust. Striders typically join packs that love to travel, often communing with gypsies, wanderers and the restless spirits of the dead along the way. Striders and Bone Gnawers are the backbone of the Luna Lupa.

TRIBE:
Bone Gnawers
This urban tribe is tied instinctually to life on the street. Long ago, they began as scavengers in India and Northern Africa. Now they stalk wherever the homeless and desperate struggle to survive.

Stiders are travlers, usually trusted by and large. And Bone Gnawers are punks, but they are punks for Gaia.

AUSPICE:
Ragabash
Born under the New Moon...
... Born to stalk the shadows.
You slip beneath notice
to strike Gaia's enemies unaware.

Ragabash are generally the tricksters of the Garou.

Gallaird (the other one you mentioned in your PM)are the storytellers, also a good choice. They keep the oral record of deeds and misdeeds with story and song, and can taunt, teach, tempt, and enrage listeners.
