OCC: "Dawg's Island" Casting Call!

THE SCENE:
This is an open thread. Please join and advance the story line. I'm taking a cue from Sherwood Schwartz and his sitcom Gilligan's Island. I propose a rather eclectic group of people sign up for a "three hour tour" of some smaller islands in the Caribbean. But of course the weather turns and the small boat is almost lost, our intrepid tourists find themselves marooned on a small deserted island paradise. The boat is of undetermined size so do not feel limited to 4 or 6 people if more are interested you are welcome. The story will begin as the passengers gather on the dock for the tour.

Capt. Jimmy Teach (a.k.a. Blackbeard)

Jimmy has been sailing around these islands since he was a child. Brought to the islands by his parents when he was an infant, he was raised on his daddy's charter fishing boat. A direct descendant of Edward Teach, better known in History as Blackbeard, Jimmy's exploits in "rum" running in his younger years had earned him the same title. A bit older (36) and wiser now, Jimmy had settled out of his fast paced life and into the inherited charter business. He had let his dirty blonde hair grow out years ago, and his beard always seemed to be in some ambiguous state between five o'clock shadow and fully-grown in. At 6'3" he was lean and his skin tanned from long hours lounging in the sun. Jimmy spent most of his time hanging out at the Grass Shack at the docks or on his boat fishing. His pursuits as a younger man had left him financially free of ever actually having to charter his boats. However, on the occasion that a particularly intriguing female customer presented herself for a charter, then we would take that trip out himself. His passengers would purchase their tickets in their hotels or resorts and then were told to meet down by the docks out in front of the Grass Shack. From atop his stool at the corner of the bar on the roof of the establishment, he could look down and survey the "days catch."

Tana left Cincinnatti the day her divorce was finalized from her womanizing, embezzling attorney husband. She cashed in her divorce settlement, sold her house and never looked back.

After a year of island hopping, Tana was ready to settle down. She invested all her money in the "Grass Shack" and haven't regretted it a single day.

Ripley was no stranger to the water. Having spent the better part of the last 5 years racing with an all male crew on a Synergy 1000 out of Seattle Washington. With her agile cat like moves, she maneuvered her way around the boat just as well as any of the male crew, if not better. Following a bad break up, the teams captain; Ripley’s Ex long term live-in boyfriend, cut her from the crew.

Trust fund baby, with no financial worries to ponder. A reputation for playing hard. Her personal life perched of the edge of the wild side . She always managed to embarrass her family publicly with her outrageous stunts.

Ripley finds herself on a extended vacation for some soul searching, after her parents send her packing to the families villa in the Caribbean, with hopes their promiscuous daughter would find some internal peace with her self.

Markus (Mark) Caswell

30 years old
Well tanned and muscular but not overly so
Blond hair bleached almost white from the sun

The newest member of Captain Teach's crew Mark is not new to the sea having practically grown up around boats as his father was an avid weekend sailor and the fact that he got a job on a small charter boat almost out of high school. This is his first voyage under the Teach though not the first job as a sailor and he is a bit nervous considering the captain's reputation but he is eager to learn and hopes to one day have his own business.

Julian Steele...archeaologist.

Julian is a respected expert on Pre-Colombian antiquities, fresh from a season of digging at the ruins in Copan he's relaxing in the small resort town, assembling his notes and catching some R&R before returning to the University.
On an impulse he buys a ticket for a small cruise around the local islands.
He's a good looking devil, tall and lean from 3 months of rugged field work. His hair just beginning to show a bit of gray. His eyes are a clear gray and his skin deeply tanned.

Ordering a mimosa to go with his huevos rancheros, he takes a seat undeer the cabana of the Grass Shack and surveys his very attractive fellow passengers. This should be fun...

Josephine "Jo" Shay

Josephine Shay grew up on the water with her father, a local fisherman. The family had transplanted to the islands from the mainland before she was born, so Jo was a first generation local. She worked with her father on the ship for as long as she could remember. Her mother had died of cancer when Jo was just 10. Her Father was fond of the bottle, and had lost his boat. Jo picked up work on the charters whenever she could to sock away money to try and buy a new boat.

With her blonde hair and blue eyes, she's had to prove herself as a worthy shipmate before anyone took her seriously, but anyone who’d sailed with Jo knew despite her thin build could hold her own as a sailor. Jo is the natural kind of beauty who does not give her looks a second thought. She rarely wears make-up and her thick hair is usually pulled up in a high pony tail to keep it out of her eyes. Her skin was perpetually a golden brown, and at 26 Jo was on her way to being the youngest woman to own her own working ship.
