Jack posted this in his thread on cussin', but I thought it deserved its own thread.

I herby declare this thread, the official, Eric Holder appreciation thread! Come along everyone, and say "Thank you Mr. Holder for neglecting porn!" :cattail:

Often shoved under the mattress of social issues, conservative activists are making sure that pornography will take the center stage of political discussion.

Holder quietly shut down the Justice Department's Obscenity Prosecution Task Force recently. It was created in 2005 under President George W. Bush, to crack down on pornography. Conservatives are calling foul, and say the move shows Holder doesn't care about prosecuting porn-related cases.

Let's hear it for common sense and free speech. Porn, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. If they'd just leave the Internet alone, things will be fine. ;)

Given that Holder is still in denial that the ATFE deliberately let hundreds of magazine-fed, military style semi-automatic rifles get sold to Mexican drug cartels, despite the written evidence to the contrary, it's nice to know that he is capable of getting at least one thing right. It may be the only thing . . .

Not one of Obama's most sterling appointments, IMO.

Mr Holder has done the impossible--he has made Janet Reno look like a great AG.

By shutting down the Porn task force?

Keep on topic people, please. Whatever else he's done or not done, this is an appreciation thread for something he HAS done that does US, on this site, a great deal of good. Task forces like this can shut down sites like ours on a whim. They can get us arrested in ridiculous witch hunts--and that can cause us a lot of trouble, personally and otherwise, even if, in the end, their charges or laws or ability to do things doesn't hold up in court.

If you really need to hate on him, be my guest, just do it in your own thread. It's not like you can't start one or a dozen to make snide comments about whoever you like for whatever justified reason you like. I just don't see any reason to clutter up this one with them.

I do think it important to discuss such "task forces" their creation, their purpose, their problems, and how they affect us. Don't you?

Thank you Eric, now how about looking at the Wall Street morass?
