First of all the character of Molly would have to be older than she was in the show. Probably in her early twenties. Possibly 18 or 19. After running away from the boarding school she worked for her dad for a few years before they were forced to go on the great race of Oban.
The idea for Oban Star-Racers would have Satis being afraid that the plans to have someone else become the next Avatar may fail because of the former Avatar known as Canaletto, so Satis talks or tricks Molly into having sex with him so she could give birth to the next Avatar. You could have it so the normal ending of the show still partially happens. Jordan still becomes the Avatar. But after the death of Satis and Molly and her father return to earth she finds out she's pregnant.
