Yuh gotta respect the generous attitudes of all the millions whove opted out so there will be plenty of ObamaCare for us mortals.
Just wait...they'll be beating the doors down wanting to join. There could even be violence.
You have to love it when HHS touts its own report...
http://reason.com/blog/2013/09/25/the-dodgy-new-hhs-report-on-obamacare-pr
And it's a bunch of cherry picked BS.
But “lower than expected” is, of course, not the same as lower than they are currently. That’s not the comparison the administration wants to make. "Because of the Affordable Care Act, the health insurance that people will be buying will actually cover them in the case of them getting sick. It doesn't make sense to compare just the number the person was paying, you have to compare the value people are getting," HHS official Cohen told the Journal.
Yep. And even with cherry-picking, it is more expensive so the advocates resort to that twisted logic I last saw employed by Jenn14:
In short, you cannot use real numbers and math, you have to be able to divine a value that transcends cost to you, because someone else will gain a benefit.
What about everyone else? As a Politico piece on the release notes, “the report doesn’t actually reveal very much about what most people will pay.” Instead, it “gives lots of examples of the kinds of people who will get good prices — but everyone else will remain in the dark until at least next Tuesday, when Obamacare is supposed to open its doors.”
Nor did the administration want reporters digging too much into the data before writing stories today. “The report was issued to news organizations on Tuesday under a strict embargo, with specific instructions not to share the information with anyone else, like outside health insurance experts who might be able to provide more analysis of the numbers," Politico reports.
The thing that get me is all this bullshit about lower premiums and such is just the tip of the cost iceberg that everyone is looking at.
It may come to pass that premiums are lower for the individual, what with subsidies and the like, yet the cost of those subsides is not commented on.
The money has to come from somewhere. Where? Taxes or deficit spending. So the real cost of that premium all those liberals are shouting about is not the $165.50 per month they will be paying out of pocket, but the cost of the subsidy that they are handed to make the premium that low.
And whose pocket does that come out of? In most cases the same premium payers other pocket. The tax paying pocket. Another entitlement program run by the worst possible people on the planet, government.
So that premium you pay, plus the taxes you pay are the true cost of ObamaCare.
The numbers are in, it will cost the American people over $1 trillion, over the next 10 years to fund all the bullshit needed to support this boondoggle called ObamaCare. That's over and above the premiums Americans will have to pay.
That is $3,000 per man, woman and child in America. So a family of four will have to pay $12,000 in taxes to fund ObamaCare, above the cost of the insurance they pay for.
I don't know about you, but since Obama took office, I don't have an extra $3,000 to spend on anything even if it is spread over 10 years.

Obama's stash...

Remember, this thing is going to be a bonanza of new taxes, so the money is coming from government silly.
:caning:
Please get facts on how ACA is funded. It's not by taking money from the people getting help and then giving it right back to them in the same amount. It's just not.
I've noticed a glut of conservatives these days walking around asking how the ACA is funded. Which talk show host told you to do this?
And premiums for individuals will be much lower on exchanges even before subsidies. This is because individual plans are ultra expensive due to their group size being one family versus 200,000 families.
Yuh gotta respect the generous attitudes of all the millions whove opted out so there will be plenty of ObamaCare for us mortals.
All of the ACA's taxes have been in place for a while now. Their impact was such that you didn't even notice them being there.
Look at the last line of Granny Grumpy's whine...she's whining about $3000 in taxes to be paid over the next 10 years. 300 per year. 25 per month. Woe is her. She's a victim.
