The man is such a fucking fraud. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie.

WASHINGTON — In an unusual presidential endorsement of a specific automobile, President Obama told a UAW conference on Tuesday that he intends to buy a Chevrolet Volt when he leaves office.

The Obama administration shepherded Chevrolet parent General Motors through a federally led bankruptcy in 2009.

Obama referred to a 2010 visit to a GM factory in Hamtramck, Michigan, where the Volt is built.

"I got to get inside a brand-new Chevy Volt fresh off the line — even though Secret Service wouldn't let me drive it," he said, according to a transcript of his speech on the White House Web site. "But I liked sitting in it. It was nice. I'll bet it drives real good. And five years from now, when I'm not president any more, I'll buy one and drive it myself. Yes, that's right."

We haven't seen you this mad since your thread about how it was wrong for Obama to eat ice cream.

GM makes so many Volts its closing the factory for 5 weeks to give the workers a rest.

He might have to buy a used one if he waits five years. Better to buy one now take some pictures to be a douche to people like miles and then store it.

Think us tax payers will ever get our money back?

Yeap. We didn't lose hundreds of thousands more jobs because of the GM/Chrysler bailouts. Hundreds of thousands didn't tap our treasury for unemployment, Medicaid, and other benefits. Hundreds of thousands more Americans are paying taxes instead of adding to the deficit.

GM made $7.6 billion last year and $4.6 billion the year before, when otherwise they would have made nothing. If they're taxed at 25% then that's $3 billion of that $20 billion recovered in just 22 months since bankruptcy. Now add in all the taxes collected from the legion of contractors/subcontractors/etc that are still in business because of the bailout and that figure grows quickly.

The only way you can say taxpayers will not come out ahead on GM is if you pretend that it occurred in isolation from the rest of the economy.

The Republicans went into Obama's first term knowing the only way to unseat him in 2012 was to hang a disaster around his neck. Despite their best efforts to deepen the recession, and the rest of their obstruction agenda, it hasn't happened. This doesn't stop them from talking as if it did.

It's an old rule of politics: If your opponent only has to break even to beat what you are offering, you've already lost.

I read today that the Volt has like zero resale value, 1/2 the price of the car is its battery, and the battery is crap.

I suspect that if you opened the battery case 10,000 little AA batteries would spill out.

It's the same thing with Solyndra. It was a bad investment but it accounts for 0.006% of the stimulus and about 48 hours of our daily Afghan war spending. Doesn't matter though, it's an EPIC DISASTER that gets immediately over-generalized to all kinds of things.

Not to mention it was a part of the stimulus dedicated to venture capital. Venture capital is by definition a gamble. You bet on many different things and although some of those fail, you bank on bigger dividents from those that succeed.

WHAT???

Tell us how the GOP blocked Obama's infamous trillion dollar "stimulus?"

Face it: Obama is a dismal failure, and he did it all by himself. His foreign policy is a disaster. He has no leadership skills or management experience. He promised us lower unemployment. The stimulus was a scam, just like everything else his regime does.

By his own admission Obama has nobody to blame but himself. He deserves to be fired.

Blaming someone else is childish at best.

You must be pissed that Republicans are so bad they're going to lose to that resume.

Again.

Seems everyone is blaming Obama for their financial problems.

They should shut the fuck and fix the problem themselves.

All you fucking communists want the government to fix everything that you fuck up with your careless spending.

He's the fucking president, what would he be doing driving a civilian vehicle? He rides in heavily armored cars and has ALWAYS an escort of hundreds of secret service agents and military personnel following him wherever he goes.

Is he going to tool around in the Chevy volt on the white house lawn?

A poll from your very own WND shows that 20% of Republicans are leaning toward voting for Obama.

WND EXCLUSIVE
20% of Republicans leaning to Obama!
2012 election looks like replay of 2008

WASHINGTON – For critics of Barack Obama, 2012 has been portrayed as a do-or-die year for the country – an election that will determine whether America stays on the road to European-style socialism or veers right to reclaim its positions as the most vibrant economy in the world and the home of individual liberty.

But the 2012 election is looking more like a replay of 2008 than a do-over.

The latest WND/Wenzel Poll shows none of the current crop of Republican presidential candidates has solidified the base of the party, with one in five GOP voters leaning toward support of Obama in November.

That's a lot of Republicans voting for a failed Democratic president.

No one gives a shit about electric cars.

Republicans do. They have trouble demonizing more than a couple things at once, so while they're presently slacking off on Mexican immigrants they've geared up to demonize the Volt.

And here you are blaming him.

I said the GOP tried to block. It didn't work and now coming into the election, they have nothing to offer but more of the same policies which gave us 2008.

As much as the GOP would love to have photos of idle GM factories, it didn't work out for them.
