I wonder to what extent the research and publicity being done into possible voter fraud discouraged it. The guy in Phoenix that brought in 200 absentee ballots was all over the news, I doubt he brought his next batch of 200 in. Tucson is a liberal as it comes and its a dead heat still in the district down there. Democratic incumbent is behind 700 votes last I heard.

Apparently you have been living in a cave.
All mid-term elections are a referendum of sorts on an administrations policies. "Right direction- Wrong direction" is always an indictment or support of an administration and its policy.
That said, in this cycle Obama himself in prepared (as in not off the cuff remarks) very much made this election about him when he said words to the effect "I may not be on the ballot but my policies definitely are."
In addition his favorability ratings from ACTUAL citizens (we hope) that did their civic duty and voted gave repudiating him and his policies as a reason for the ballots they cast.
HE, on the other hand chooses to believe that the people that didn't vote overwhelmingly support him despite polling and an actual POLL as in election POLL says otherwise.
