Sarah Palin said this:

"Our opponent ... is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country. This is not a man who sees America like you and I see America. We see America as a force of good in this world. We see an America of exceptionalism."

DOUGLASS K. DANIEL (AP) said this:

By claiming that Democrat Barack Obama is "palling around with terrorists" and doesn't see the U.S. like other Americans, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin targeted key goals for a faltering campaign. And though she may have scored a political hit each time, her attack was unsubstantiated and carried a racially tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret.

Is what Palin said racist? If so, in what way?

Why would it be? Just because obama is black everything that is said against him is racist?

He has ties and it is true.

So obama attacking mccain must be racist as well.

Doug who?

The salient point is, be it treating the first Twin Tower bombing as a law enforcement issue, pardoning FALN terrorists, relating to the "Volunteers of America" or defending the Black Panthers, Democrats can condone terror tactics if the opponent is the underdawg; unless it's a Republican underdawg, so there's not need to fear, just because she's here...

for the next 8 years

ANY CRITICISM of BAM will be called RACIST!

She criticized Obama of course.

Yes, we really have devolved to the point that any criticism of any minority is racially motivated. I hope she keeps it up. Gets more aggressive even. So much so that the press starts reaching even further with their ridiculous grasping at straws.

Naw... That shit will fade once Nancy and Harry start giving him the..., 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, hop, skip, turn, dip, renigg, renegotiate, step back, jack, don't you come back no more, no more no more, hit the road jack...,

Yeah, I think the idea is to play the race card every chance they get.

People don't want to get all excited over the Keating thing, so they try calling Palin a racist through that comment. Maybe it's just the only word that comes to mind. Or maybe the dude has a book coming out and wanted to get some error time.

It was answered pretty clearly in the article you failed to link....

Palin's words avoid repulsing voters with overt racism. But is there another subtext for creating the false image of a black presidential nominee "palling around" with terrorists while assuring a predominantly white audience that he doesn't see their America?

In a post-Sept. 11 America, terrorists are envisioned as dark-skinned radical Muslims, not the homegrown anarchists of Ayers' day 40 years ago. With Obama a relative unknown when he began his campaign, the Internet hummed with false e-mails about ties to radical Islam of a foreign-born candidate.

Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as "not like us" is another potential appeal to racism. It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American.

The fact is that when racism creeps into the discussion, it serves a purpose for McCain. As the fallout from Wright's sermons showed earlier this year, forcing Obama to abandon issues to talk about race leads to unresolved arguments about America's promise to treat all people equally.

But of course, linking it would have meant that you weren't hiding anything, which of course, you were.

I hope someday soon

You are DECAPITATED!

You were decapitated a long time ago. Your brainless c&p's prove that, you are totally incapable of one original thought, ever.

I hope they HANG you for TREASON!

Huge chance of that backfiring in a most unexpected way.

"Racism"

Mention any flaws about Obama and Democrats hurl the "racism" charge.
I thought we were all equal and that a person was judged by their character and actions not their skin color? It seems to me that the very real and lengthy associations this man has with convicted terrorists is worthy of consideration by the voters. He sat in a pew in Rev Wright's church for TWENTY YEARS listening to"HATE WHITEY" sermons and "GOD D*MN AMERICA" but the lady from Alaska who is married to a man who is 1/4 INUIT is a "racist"?!

It's okay to be racist when it's white people you hate.

Because "that's different".

You say that as if the left playing the race card is something new.

I saw it coming from a mile off.

Well, yeah, you're correct, of course, but I've never seen it played on such a non-racist statement.

The only rationale is this: Someone said something bad about Obama. Therefore, that person must be a racist.

The end.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

The question is not how we got to this point, but how much worse it can get!

Someone said something bad about McCain.

They must be "anti-America".

The explanation s/he was feigning ignorance on.

The answer to the question - "Is what Palin said racist? If so, in what way?" is for each person to judge for themselves. Some guy writing an article does not speak for me.

I speak for myself. You should try it sometime ,instead of relying on others to answer for you.
