The New York Stock Exchange may leave New York State if Albany imposes a transfer tax on stock sales, the president of the Intercontinental Exchange Inc.-owned exchange operator said on Tuesday in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal.

NYSE President Stacey Cunningham said she and 25 other representatives of New York’s securities industry sent a letter last Wednesday to state legislative leaders warning against the unintended consequences of imposing such a tax, which would ultimately be borne by investors.

“The New York Stock Exchange belongs in New York. If Albany lawmakers get their way, however, the center of the global financial industry may need to find a new home,” she said.

Promises, promises...

So you think NY would be better off without all that money?

LOL....lefts, they'll cut their own noses off every time.

So who you going to bleed for billions once you've chased everyone with anything to tax out of your state?

This is why "progressives" are desperate to do everything federally....they know if they try doing it at the state level, they fail in front of everyone. CA/NY are already slipping and they DESPERATELY need to cut off any escape from those states by forcing the others to be as economically as inhospitable as they are...authoritarian scum. :D

I mentioned that article other day. It's incredible the amount pain the left is willing **INFLICT ON THEIR OWN CITIZENS** to support their ridiculous progressive agenda.

NYSE would be major loss in revenue.

AOC railing against Amazon was another huge loss to NY in the name of a progressive agenda. Both NY and Amazon could have done a better job to sell the project and because of that 25,000 jobs went elsewhere.

Florida isl turning into the California of old while CA and NY continue to turn into has-beens. People are walking because leftist agendas are not affordable. NY's and CA's tax bases are shrinking. Cuomo and Newsome are being exposed for what they are.

Yuuuup.

And this is why the (D)'s are so desperate to start forcing "progress" at the federal level.

The only way to stop the exposure? Is to force other states into the same "progress" that made their states so inhospitable, try and take away better options by forcing those same policies on all 50 states at the federal level.

CA has the money and people....why don't they as a state have a universal HC system for any and all who show up with their hands out?? Hey no ID needed!!! That would be racist...... SOOOO MUCH PROGRESS!!!!! Right??? Right???

:D Oh that's right they know if they do only the handful of protected elites and millions of homeless/destitute folks will remain and they will be FORCED, to drop the crazy leftist buuu shit.

Expect the authoritarian nature of the "progressives" to increase as big money continues to leave "progressive" states for a more bidnizz friendly environment.

The affluent in CA float above at 30,000 ft while the less fortunate have to live in feces. With the amount of wealth in CA you would think that between the elites, politicians and the huge assortment of tech conglomerates they could solve the homeless problem, unfortunately they are separated from the problem by self interest and wealth accumulation, it consumes them. Political power and accruing wealth doesn't mean not acting in a socially responsible manner.

Promises, promises...

Chuckles.

Look the two RWCJ idiots chime in...

Ok so where does it say the NYSE IS moving? hmmm

Maybe you two should do a cost benefit analysts to see what that move would be worth? hmmmm

The company I work for ( very large multi national) every single year appeals every single facility for the property tax assessment.

They get very vocal with government every single time a potential tax comes out that might affect the bottom line.

This is what very large and powerful companies do...they threaten...however how often do they act...can you imagine the infrastructure investment needed to relocate to Florida...a very "hurricane" susceptible location???? Any idea of the cost of losing a single minuet of trading??? How about a couple days???

Well that statement did what it was supposed to.....trigger a bunch of buffoons who know shit.

Which is exactly what they hope to achieve with the politicians there, who also know shit for the most part...

At least YDB has the cranial capacity to see this statement for what it is...

*chuckles*

Maybe you should pull your head out of your ass and keep up with the rest of the class.

Nobody gives a fuck about your company, we're discussing the NYSE.

They get very vocal with government every single time a potential tax comes out that might affect the bottom line.

And some move when shit gets too expensive and want to escape the socialist progressive movement so they can keep their stuff.

They wouldn't lose a penny.

Does Canada actually have a stock market? :D

I do agree with you on that, politicians could fuck up a wet dream, case in point AOC and Amazon, from 25,000 good paying jobs to 1500

At least YDB has the cranial capacity to see this statement for what it is...

"Promises, promises"! Only a dumbass like you would find value in what YDB posted.:D

*chuckles*

Seems like Oracle moved to Texas dumbass! Google expanding in Texas also, maybe they move completely, just to debunk your assessment that large companies won't move to greener pastures.

The OP stated a warning of what NYSE might do you fucking idiot!

So, no companies move to Florida because of hurricanes, do you even read what you post?

You and SpazBot2k crack me up.

He failed in Cali and left with his broken tail between his legs and you have never even been here.

Luk is confusing leveraging his overinflated economy pre-collapse for maximum effect.

Luk is still mad my dollar is worth 4x his, because he lives in a mismanaged, overinflated shit hole. :D

I've been able to live here comfortably for 40 years and there's another 40 in store for me. Your dollar isn't worth more than a penny of mine, never will be. I see remedial econ in your future.

Again! back to reading for comprehension, I responded to your post based on how ridiculous it was not as a personal affront, although, some of your post are an affront to most people's cerebral capacity = ( critical thinking ability ) as apposed to cranial capacity = ( amount of space between your ears ). :D:rolleyes:

Why did you think your one of the two RWCJ?

*you're

And because being anything other than a communist = RWCJ/Alt-Reich/white supremacist /NAZIS!!!

Plus I was born to a white woman, CLEARLY making me Reich-Wing....the great oppressor of people of color!!!

LOL :D

Talk n text...*shrugs*

Funny you can understand the incorrect use of a word like your, for you're (you are), but cannot understand the incorrect use of the words Facist and Liberal....

Kind of places you on the correct educational level, right there...*chuckles*

Exactly. They always threaten to take their marbles and go home if they don't get everything they want, but where else are they going to go? Nowhere geographically near New York, for starters - all those states would have similar tax laws. Someplace like Alabama would probably give them what they want, but I don't see all the stockbrokers being willing to move there!

I mentioned that article other day. It's incredible the amount pain the left is willing **INFLICT ON THEIR OWN CITIZENS** to support their ridiculous progressive agenda.

Okay, my comment was rather flippant. But my point is, as I note above, we hear this sort of thing all the time as a way of lobbying to get their way - and that's all it is. As Fuzzy noted, the NYSE is NOT going to be willing to make the sacrifices necessary to move to any state where they'd be likely to get their way on taxes.

NYSE would be major loss in revenue.

For the Uber-rich, yes. But they can afford to take the hit.

AOC railing against Amazon was another huge loss to NY in the name of a progressive agenda.

No, it wasn't. It was a huge loss to the Amazon management. With all the tax breaks they wanted and the poor wages they pay their ground-level employees, it wouldn't have benefitted NY at all. The well-paid jobs probably would have mostly been internal transfers from elsewhere, the tax breaks would have meant no additional revenue to speak of for the state or city, and few of the locals would have been eligible for any of the decent-paying jobs.

Both NY and Amazon could have done a better job to sell the project and because of that 25,000 jobs went elsewhere.
25,000 jobs of which most would still leave their holders in near-poverty at best.

Florida isl turning into the California of old while CA and NY continue to turn into has-beens.
Yes, and remember: California used to be a red state, and the only reason NY turned solid blue was because moderate Republicans like Nelson Rockefeller and Jacob Javits were chased out of the party. As Florida attracts more businesses, more voters there will learn the same lesson they learned in New York and California: giving the rich everything they want doesn't help anyone else.

Then they will destroy Florida like they did NY/CA.

And they'll be fleeing another (D) failure.

Your ideology runs productive people off....there is a reason nations who get REALLY progressive have walls to keep people IN. :D

Same reason you guys have to do all your "progress" federally and won't dare do it as states. Anyone with the means will just leave.

Right, and that's why we see affluent people flocking to right-wing states like Alabama and Oklahoma...oh, wait a minute, we don't see that at all, do we?

As for "our ideology runs productive people off," have you forgotten that we're talking about the NYSE? Exactly what does it produce? Money for people who already have tons of it, for the most part.

Texas, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, South Dakota, Kansas, most of the midwest which outside of Chicago/IL is practically libertoonian compared to NY/CA.

California especially is losing big businesses and rich people. From what I've heard NY, but NYC in particular are losing people with means.

As for "our ideology runs productive people off," have you forgotten that we're talking about the NYSE?

No. I think most adults realize we're talking about one of NY states single largest money generators if not THE biggest money maker.

Exactly what does it produce? Money

And an absolutely astro-fuckin-nomical amount of it...that's right.

Do you think NY as a state would be better of without that money? You seem to.

And maybe you and your progressive comrades are right.

I think NY should tax the fuckin' shit out of NYSE. Just make it unaffordable for them to do bidnizz.

Send them packing and we'll see how NY does with a massive blow to their tax revenue and GDP. :D

Let's not forget the rest of the financial industry...probably going to pack their shit and leave too.

for people who already have tons of it, for the most part.

And for millions of middle class investors, not to mention the state of NY.

If NYSE left NY, it would be economically painful to the state. To say otherwise is a simple denial of economic reality.

South Dakota? Really? Name one business there besides Citibank, which has been there for decades.
And most of those other states have been moving to the left in recent elections, in case you missed it. :D

I've heard people like you saying that far more than I've seen any evidence of it.

But it won't. They'll whine about taxes, but they'll stay right where they are.

All small tech/gaming companies. But a bunch of them.

Same thing with Kansas, killer internet service with cheap living/facilities and little to no regulations/taxes to keep you out of the game. Unlike blue states where making money is ONLY for the elite, well connected and or already rich.

And most of those other states have been moving to the left in recent elections, in case you missed it. :D

That's what happens when tens of thousands and in some cases hundreds of thousands of Californians move in....and vote for the same shit they ran from. :D

And those states will suffer the same fate if they don't educate these Democrats that the reason they are moving to ________ is because _______ didn't let Democrat's destroy their state like they did in California, where they were forced to flee from.

I've heard people like you saying that far more than I've seen any evidence of it.

You should pay more attention. Even the state was trying to stop them with AB 2088 which proposed to assess taxes on former California residents for up to a decade after they've left the state. Fucking insane.

Just this last year California lost Oracle, Elon Musk, HP, among others...BIG money is bailing.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...uarters-to-texas-joins-exodus-from-california

Not to mention the thousands of small bidnizzez shut down from covid.

CA's 2021 budget is going to be in bad shape if they don't get a federal bail out.

But it won't. They'll whine about taxes, but they'll stay right where they are.

Keep pushing then!! Go all the way. :D

They'll never leave!!
