Not that you perverts.

I've been trying Almond and Cashew milk lately. Sometimes I get a mix of the two. Has a bit more taste than normal milk and the consistency is a bit different, but it works for everything I've tried so far. I use it in drinks and on cereal. I don't drink it alone for some reason though. Seems to last longer too. Regular milk will go bad in a few days after it's opened, but this stuff lasts a week or more with no change that I can tell.

It's not milk. It's ground/strained almonds and water plus a preservative and thickeners to make it look like milk. It also has very few of the benefits of real milk (vitamins/minerals).

However, if you are lactose intolerant, then it's a way to have cereal in the mornings like the rest of the world. Unless you have a nut allergy too.

Yeah, I think pretty much everyone knows the nut milk isn't actually milk.

Nut milks is pretty good. The ones sold in stores are actually of a huge variety. Almond, cashew, hazelnut, coconut, macadamia nut. There are sugarless ones and ones with some sugar. It goes so well in coffee, if you drink it. Can totally replace cow's milk from your diet.

I bought nut and soy 'milks' because they didn't require refrigeration before opening. Now cow milk is so available, in Mexican markets anyway. I liked almond milk till I found how massive almond production exacerbated California's droughty water shortages. It's like subsidized ethanol, a very inefficient use of limited resources. And it doesn't froth well.

Coffee and tea need a creamer that is thicker in consistency. Dairy-free creamers are available, and good ones too.

i feel the need to point out that milk does not go bad in a few days after you open it. not in a carton anyway. i opened my current half gallon of lactose free whole milk a couple weeks ago at least and i'm not even kind of sick. it's not lumpy, it smells like milk, it tastes like milk and, yeah, what else do you need?

and i know the carton will often say discard a week after opening, but that's fucking nonsense. it's just a con to get you to buy milk more frequently.

Bad in a few days ?....You must get yours from mad cows.

I've used nut milk in cooking as a dairy substitute, and find it acceptable, but cold for drinking or cereal tastes oily and unappetizing to me.
